Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

If I recall correctly, this is very similar to how the HAP40 Caly 3 sprint release went down. Very limited availability at first, but later it was available for longer.
I don't think it was ever readily available, but those that wanted one could get one.

Re: In praise of Mr. Ed Schempp

My only Schempp design is the VG10 Rock, and I really am in awe of its ergos. Specifically how the handle locks the hand in super snugly, and the negative blade angle which seems to be a Schempp trade mark. It's a super interesting design that I am really pleased to own. I use it as a camp / campfir...

Re: Cru-wear Delica

I am really digging the blue hue as well. I was just surprised, given how corrosion free my other Cruwear knives have been to this point. Those clips on the PM2 and P3 are Casey Lynch's, and I think those are the sand blast finish. Can't say enough good things about his clips. And he's a great dude ...

Re: Cru-wear Delica

I noticed that my Cruwear Delica is developing a patina quite a bit faster than any of my Golden Cruwear models are. Under basically the same conditions and care. I wonder if the heat treat protocol is is slightly different between Seki and Golden? Anyone else notice this? https://i.imgur.com/Bopipl...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

Cruwear / PD#1 - most balanced steel for my needs, and I have it in all of my favorite models. Sharpens easily, holds edge well, tough. M390 / 204P / 20CV Family - very stainless option, excellent edge retention, sharpens easily. 52100 (or Super Blue) - I love the edge this steel can easily take, an...

I held out much longer than in previous years, but the $100 Junction was too good of a deal to pass up.

Re: Where is my Bow River ?

Here's a family portrait of of my trailing point knives. I am a really big fan of the form. Also, I am amazed at how thin the Bow River is behind the edge. I measure it at about 0.018 to 0.020 bte. I ran it over the brown SM stones and it has a sticky sharp edge now. https://i.imgur.com/PsVQmI2.jpg...

Re: Where is my Bow River ?

I've been using my Southfork today while out camping in anticipation of my Bow River (arriving on Monday). I have used it today for preparing a cantelope and also slicing apples. The trailing point design is an exceptional apple slicer, and it specifically makes coring the apple super easy. Really e...

They in stock anywhere else?
I see them on eBay for $40. But it sure seems like other dealers will start to have them at MAP.

I saw that they had stock as well, but I was worried about some of the reviews I read. So let us know how it goes with them?

Re: Cru-wear Delica

I played part time Rancher for about 5 days last week and over the weekend, taking care of a herd of 12 horses. Fortunately, my new Cruwear Delica arrived Sat afternoon. I tend to stray to other knives, but each time I switch back to a Delica, I am reminded how great of a design it is. While I was p...

Re: What Are You Driving / Have Driven?

Nissan Pathfinder The Nissan is best reliable car I ever had, much more than all the Audis I ever owned! Could not agree more! I am driving my R50 Nissan Pathfinder, which I have owned since 2005, and have put 175k miles on. This will easily be the best and most reliable car I ever own. It has been...

I think bright colors like that really suit small knives.
I agree with this. I wouldn't want that color in, say a PM2 or even P3, but as a knife I carry clipless, I love this color.

Re: G10 Ink Stain Help

MagicEraser FTW! I used only MagicEraser, cold water, and 5 min with light scrubbing. Pulled it right out. I am stunned how easy this was. Tells me both that G10 is quite impervious to stains / permanent discoloration, and that MagicEraser is, well, magic. :D Below is a progression... Before startin...

G10 Ink Stain Help

So I accidentally got an ink stain on my REX 45 PM2.

Any ideas on getting rid of it? Magic Eraser? Rubbing alcohol? I tried what I had available - hand sanitizer - and it didn't have any effect.

Recommendations?
