This thread made pull out my Caly 3 HAP40 and put it in my pocket today. Love how smoooooth the action is. :)
Similarly, this thread caused me to carry my Super Blue Caly 3 today. Insanely smooth, crazy sharp, and a great carry.

Why don't I carry the Caly series more?

That is an amazing reveal. Gonna be hard to pick only the few that my budget can allow. Very impressive, Spyderco!

Re: TKJ Spyderco exclusive cruwear ????

$315 I can see why the store is called The Knife Joker. I see $335 MSRP, with a $217.75 MAP price. Nice shade of forest green G-10, which I think looks great with the DLC. Nonetheless, I will pass on it. Don't like DLC that much, and I've got the Crucarta Shaman. https://theknifejoker.com/product/s...

So I am carrying my straight spine Stretch exclusively through the end of the year to really find out if I like the design better than my old SB Stretch 1. So to followup... As I had planned, I carried the Straight Spine Stretch exclusively from about 12/21 through the end of the year. I never carr...

I'd love to see this come back in Micarta - either polished, like the original, or left textured.

Re: Straight Spine Stretch

So I am carrying my straight spine Stretch exclusively through the end of the year to really find out if I like the design better than my old SB Stretch 1. I sold that Stretch because I just wasn't carrying it much. And I wasn't carrying it much for a variety of reasons. Thus far, the Straight Spine...

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

Knife Center has the Junction on sale for $100. I wasnt too interested in that knife but at that price Ill give the steel a try. Plus if I ever go backpacking it seems perfect. I picked one up at that price from KC earlier in the fall, and am glad I did. New steel to me, and in a very slim design (...

Re: Straight Spine Stretch

Josh, I'm with you. Mine arrived today too, and I'm not sure what to think. The similarities to the PM2 (albeit as a backlock) are compelling. I sold my previous Stretch 1 FRN. But this one is definitely interesting to me. So we'll see.

Fixed Blade Knife Testing

This evening my wife asked me to get my knives out for a Girl Scout project. Color me interested! Turns out the project is cutting Cinnamon sticks for a project they are doing tomorrow. Here's the knives I grabbed for this effort: https://i.imgur.com/N63VqNX.jpg And the debris at the end: https://i....

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock

I've wanted to do the loop around Rainier for over 20 years. 4 more years to retirement and we're headed back to the Pacific Northwest! It's an amazing trip, and I would highly recommend it. I'd love to do it again. I'd try to time it better next time to get in just after the winter snows clear, bu...

Great knife! I carried mine on a 8-day backpacking circumnavigation of Mt Rainier back in 2017. Wonderful knife, and even better are the memories attached to it.

Re: Cruwear Shaman ALERT THREAD

I purchased 1(out of stock and hoping they get some in) from a site called hand-tools.com. Slash - FWIW - I have used hand-tools.com successfully in the past for hard to get sprint runs. Their website is antiquated in appearance, but I don't recall there being any issues with quick shipment. They d...

Re: ESEE Knives

I have a Izula II, as well as a BK14 (which is half Esee).

I really like both of them, and honestly would love to see the Izula II handle with the BK14 blade shape.

The Izula's ergos are great, and I really like it in that size range. I haven't tried any larger Esees, so no input there.

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

Me too. Appreciate the heads-up, Mm1313.
I've been wondering when more of these would start to come out. Seems like the longest I've observed between initial release and more broad availability.

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

If I recall correctly, this is very similar to how the HAP40 Caly 3 sprint release went down. Very limited availability at first, but later it was available for longer.
I don't think it was ever readily available, but those that wanted one could get one.

Re: In praise of Mr. Ed Schempp

My only Schempp design is the VG10 Rock, and I really am in awe of its ergos. Specifically how the handle locks the hand in super snugly, and the negative blade angle which seems to be a Schempp trade mark. It's a super interesting design that I am really pleased to own. I use it as a camp / campfir...
