My ZDP-189 caly 3.5 clip is just as shiny as when I got it new. I'm almost certain the amount of spottiness on yours is a defect.

I'd really like to see some Navy Blue, or some kind of deep blue. Also some more bright green would be cool.

It is a little bit disappointing that there is no Boye Dent as it's a relatively good extra safety measure. Plus it's easier to lodge your finger into the lock and close the blade.

I wanted to get at the manganese dioxide and zinc powder. I needed them. For reasons.

I too am headed up to Yosemite and Mammoth for winter camping and skiing this weekend!

Thanks all for the warm welcomings :)

Introducing Myself, Through Photos

So I'm a new member on this forum, I've been browsing here for a few years though. I thought a good way to tell y'all about myself would be through pictures I’ve taken on a lot of trips I go on.

I live in Los Angeles California, where everything is super dry in the hills.

The G-10 on my paramilitary 2 used to be a lot more rough, but with all the wear and tear I've put it through, it really has become more smooth. I don't think there was ever a case that I found G-10 too rough though.

I am a volunteer firefighter (wildland), but during a lot of the general work around the station I've used my Endura4, and in the field I used my Paramilitary 2 a lot more. I'm a lot less worried about my Paramilitary 2 G-10 scales melting than my Endura4 FRN scales. I melted my helmet on a fire ...

I have a Caly 3.5 in carbon fiber with ZDP, and I've carried it every day for a few months now. I'd say go for the Caly 3.5 because it's a great EDC and feels really good in hand. When you get it in hand, you'll notice that the blade length is almost that of an Endura4 but is less bulky. Plus the ...

Yeah... I would trad the knife back after you get the clip. I mean it's basically cheating your friend out of cash because he doesn't know as much about knives as you do.

I once asked for a hard-copy catalog from CRKT and ended up getting these two large magazine sized catalogs. They were really nice, but they did not sell me on the knives inside (never bought one). Spyderco's catalogs are much more concise and show all the useful stuff without the elaborate gear ...
