My ZDP-189 caly 3.5 clip is just as shiny as when I got it new. I'm almost certain the amount of spottiness on yours is a defect.

I'd really like to see some Navy Blue, or some kind of deep blue. Also some more bright green would be cool.

It is a little bit disappointing that there is no Boye Dent as it's a relatively good extra safety measure. Plus it's easier to lodge your finger into the lock and close the blade.

The G-10 on my paramilitary 2 used to be a lot more rough, but with all the wear and tear I've put it through, it really has become more smooth. I don't think there was ever a case that I found G-10 too rough though.

Yeah... I would trad the knife back after you get the clip. I mean it's basically cheating your friend out of cash because he doesn't know as much about knives as you do.

I once asked for a hard-copy catalog from CRKT and ended up getting these two large magazine sized catalogs. They were really nice, but they did not sell me on the knives inside (never bought one). Spyderco's catalogs are much more concise and show all the useful stuff without the elaborate gear ...
