This in no way reflects on the status of the G-10 Bushcraft. We had numerous requests for Bushcraft Blanks so we accommodated those requests with a small batch. I'm not sure why it sounded like clearing out existing stock, but this should clear up that confusion. ;)

thanks for the clarification ...

Hey JV3,

Great pics. the engineering on the nests is also special. Do you know what the two hatchets weigh?

sal

thanks, sal! the hunter's axe is 2.09 lbs (33.5 oz) and the small forest axe is 2.25 lbs (36 oz).

Excellent posts!

this hike was mostly so i can do an axe chop off between the gransfors bruks small forest axe and hunter's axe to determine which i like better...and sell off the other. see this thread for more details on the hunter's axe: http://jungletraining.com/forums/showthread.php?29144-gransfors-bruks-hunter ...

i took a quick day hike two weeks ago to take in the last of the fall colors...been here plenty of times but it was the first time i've seen this wasps' nest (i thought it was a bees' nest...thanks nematocyst for the id!)...never seen it on a tree either.

Also, if you're adding scales to your mule, you're going to have to send the mule to the maker. Not sure if you're a DIY person, but it may be easier just to order a sheet of kydex to make your own sheath. It won't be pretty, but will be functional.

yup, diy is more cost effective in the long run ...

Nice knives.

thanks!

Still kicking myself for not getting one of the Spyderco Scandi blanks. I wish they'd offer those again so I could send one to Tom Krein to put some handle scales on.

Nice pics, and nice Fiddleback too ...

Fantastic presentation! Kudos, mate -- I thoroughly enjoyed sharing your adventure, vicariously from the comfort of my home. That was a beautiful snake you chanced upon. The anaconda looked ferocious, also! lol.

Thanks for an enjoyable diversion!

yup, one of many mistakes i learned - get all the sanding done, rinse the kydex thoroughly and rivet it last. no biggie - i have a 2nd cts-xhp that's still new. i'll probably scratch that one next when i try my hand with leather sheaths or diy handles, haha.

In regards to that first dragonfly, I think you captured the time when the adult emerges from its nymph form. I remember catching those nymphs in the water as a kid.

nice! that pro kydex press is nice but i found a way to avoid spending that kind of cash for one though - unless you'll be doing lots of sheaths. here's a kydex tutorial i wrote awhile back that might be useful to some: http://jungletraining.com/forums/showthread.php?21502-how-to-make-kydex-sheaths .
