I try to avoid redundancy in things I collect. The Sage 2 complements the Chaparral very well. I have both. Great models.

Difficult choice to make when the Chaparral 2 is released.

For EDC in an urban environment, Chaparral is best for me.

For what some of these tactical pens sell for, I'd rather just spend the same money on a really nice regular pen and not a lump of titanium with a fisher insert inside.

JMHO, of course.

With my limited experience of 5 Spyderco models, I think the edges of the Sage 2 are by far the sharpest of any of the others. I don't think this is a good thing as it gives the feeling of poor finishing which translates to cheap. A few minutes with some sandpaper remedied this for me, but if you ...

Maybe it doesn't defeat the Sage idea. The idea is to give credit to the locks and lock designers. I'd love a Sage handle with a Gayle Bradley or Stretch shaped blade. I'd love it. I just might buy one too. yuk yuk. :) Keep the blade 3". DO NOT lengthen it. Longer than 3" for me gets into the too ...

I'm sure the Delica was the first model for many. Myself included.

Do all the Sages have the engraved bug and Spyderco branding?

I know its just a cosmetic thing, but it contributes to a higher perception of quality. To me at least.

I love my Sage 2, but that is with limited experience. I love the aesthetics, design and construction. Simply elegant.

Currently deciding between a Sage 1 and a Chaparral. Chaparral is in the lead.

I have 3 Fenix lights and I've been very happy with each of them. Good product at a reasonable price. China made of course, but I don't think they are cheaply made at all.

I have a Fenix LD01 that I absolutely love. It is with me every day. I have the stainless steel model which might be a little heavy for a keychain, but the black aluminum is lighter and cheaper. About the size of a tube of chapstick and has a nice spread of levels with good battery life.

I like the "second kind of cool" line.

I also like his template for his reviews in covering the same topics for each knife.

I like his interviews with the manufacturer reps at the various shows.

Unfortunately I find his as well as many other video sources for review to be too long in duration and ...

So far I think the PM2 is the best built, but the Sage 2 is my fav.

Hello from a new member

Hello everyone. I didn't see a place for new member introductions so I thought I'd drop one here.

My name is John and I live in New Jersey, USA. Three months ago I didn't give a rat's tail about pocket knives and now I have a drawer full.

Below are my Spydercos. PM2, Sage 2, Delica 4, Dragonfly 2 ...
