Pm2 problems?

Hello all. About 4 months ago I purchased my dream knife: a digi-camo pm2 with the dlc coating. This beast is my pride and joy and it never go anywhere without in in my pocket :) but recently it developed horizontal blade play. I tried to fiddle with the stop pin and pivot pin (adjusting both sides ...

The reason I went for the black blade is because I had a Kershaw with the bead blast finish and one with the black blade, and the bead blast had surface rust the first day I carried it. But the black blade has shown no rust in about 6 months. How does the dlc coating compare to the coating Kershaw ...

Well I just ordered my first spyderco! I got the pm2 with the dlc coated blade and the digi camo scales. This is definitely going to be a long week waiting for it to come in :p

In doing some research on the paramilitary 2 I saw that some people have been having problems with the stop pin rusting. Anyone have any experience with this?

I appreciate your help, ringo. It sounds like it's worth it. I just wonder why there's been a shortage of pm2's lately. I know about a year ago when I first started looking pm2's were a little over $100.

In all your opinions, is the pm2 worth $170? Like I said before I've always wanted one, so if it's worth it I may just go for it. I'm good at spending money :D

Is there any reason the pm2 is getting more expensive? Are the materials changing?

Wow I didn't even know that the pm2 was discontinued. Anybody have any idea why? And is there any planned replacement of the pm2?

On amazon the dlc pm2 is $170. I'm not sure why it's so expensive, but I can only order on amazon since I don't have a credit card :(

That's good to know. Do you ever oil your blades? And do you carry the sage tip up or tip down?

Paramilitary 2 rust resistance?

Hey guys. After being bitten by the bug a few years ago, I've finally decided to buy a pm2. I'm sure it's an amazing knife, but I've found that I sometimes have issues with my knives rusting in my pocket. It's usually my Kershaws that rust, which I blame the bead blast finish for. Now lately I've ...

I'm leaning more towards the Centofante now (it just looks so awesome) but I heard that if you put the pocket clip in the tip down position, it will tighten the scales around the pivot pin and make the opening difficult. Have any of you run into this problem?

I would just like to thank everyone for their help. Right now I'm trying to decide between the Cento and the Native. I just wish i could feel them in my hands before i make a purchase. But I will probably get the Manix at some other time, cuz that seems like the perfect EDC for me. Outside of work ...

For what it's worth, i don't think there's a person on this forum that won't vouch for the quality of the Japan/Taiwan knives being made.
I agree with that. All the knives I have, except my Kershaw Junk Yard Dog II (my favorite EDC), are made overseas. I may get the Cento though, since dbcad's ...

Another thing that i look for is a U.S. made knife. I believe the Centofante is made in Japan, right?

Trust me I never misuse my knives. I only use them for their intended purpose. A friend of mine almost started prying with one of my knives, and i nearly fainted :)

It depends on where you work, but the Manix would be too big at most job sites where I live.
I work at a grocery store. So I have light duty cutting tasks. I've been carrying a cheap Ozark Trail knife while working, since it's not very flashy. So I wanted a light duty knife that, if needed, could ...

I do like the air, but like I said I have a very limited budget. the most I would want to spend is $70, which is why I was looking at the Manix and the Native. And to me, a knife with a 4 inch blade is the perfect size. so the native and the Manix seem a little small to me :D So the Dragonfly is a ...

Thank you all :) I have looked at the Centofante, but in my mind deemed the blade too thin lol. I was also trying to keep the cost of the knife at the lower end of the price range. And I like the way you phrased that: "Tactical Pink"
