Good choice -- the FFG Endura is one of the best slicers I've ever encountered. :)

I can't believe those complaining. The only other place that consistently comes close to CS prices is Howes and SpydercoVT. Even with CS's discount changing from 46% to 44%, that beats the usual 38% discount from KW, NGK, or GPK and certainly beats KC's usual 36%. The extra couple of bucks more ...

Like others have said, I think it'd be overkill on such a small knife. IMHO, ZDP is just fine as a high-end steel for a backup knife like the Ladybug.

Here you go. Sorry I'm not much of a photographer, but hopefully this helps a bit.

CTS-BD30P is Carpenter's version of CPM-S30V. As always, nobody can say for sure whether a particular steel/model/feature/etc. is "worth it" for another person. But IMHO it's a nice performance upgrade on the ...

Congrats on a very nice trio of Spydies. With the different sizes, blade shapes, locking mechanisms, and G-10 colors, they complement each other well both functionally and aesthetically. :spyder:

I'm really not seeing anything problematic there. The bevels on the two sides aren't absolutely identical, but as others have mentioned that's par for the course since the edges are ground by hand.

If you think it needs to be sharper, just touch it up using the Sharpmaker or whatever other ...

Try "coloring in" the part of the tang where the lockbar engages with a Sharpie permanent marker. That's worked really well for me on even the stickiest titanium framelocks/linerlocks, and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for a steel linerlock as well.

Looks fine to me. The edges on production knives are ground manually, so some small amount of variation is to be expected and is well within spec (i.e., it isn't a QC issue).

I'd buy pretty much anything Spyderco put out with S90V -- other than that, I can't say I care much about the other aspects of this hypothetical knife (where it's made, what kind of clip it has, etc.).

Wouldn't you want it a bit easier time getting a say, S90V millie or whatever else it is you want to use, at closer to street prices? Rather than getting one at high secondary prices and being reluctant to use them because of the difficulty of getting another one.

I would have like to be able to ...

The way I see this is that there is a dynamic between the speculators and collectors and the people who just want to have specific knives. For the moment, I think that the advantage lies with the speculators and collectors who want to keep secondary market values high. I'm not sure if you meant to ...

I'm not saying produce an unlimited quantity. Just don't say "only 600" up front, when there may turn out to be demand for 1200. I know that's what you meant. :) But like I mentioned in relaying what Sal said over on BFC, there would still be the issue of having to order the materials well in ...

I'm fine with the current system, too, and as Sal mentioned over on BFC having "limited" runs that aren't limited from the outset would be difficult for Spyderco given that they have to order the materials well in advance (at least in the case of steels or other materials that aren't part of regular ...

I think it reflects the fact that some of the new designs just happen to be more ambitious in terms of design complexity, materials, and so forth, rather than a shift of the whole line upmarket. Their bread-and-butter models are still the same prices they've always been, and the new/upgraded/limited ...

Absolutely. I'd buy at least two, maybe a couple more if they didn't put a two-per-person limit on them as with some of the past high-demand Mule Teams.
