Jabba, the colors do pop, but looking at the royal blue PM2 in my hand I have to say that the color in the image is much brighter and lighter hue, more like the Sage 3 ...

Mine was in the mail box waiting. Looks very nice, no apparent blemishes, blade is centered.
I love that compression lock. Makes one-handed closure a breeze. The royal blue is beautiful, however, I don't feel any richer...

One thing not addressed here: Did you by any chance lay down the box and cut it out as the blade dragged on another surface, or did you hold it up and try to make a plate in the air?

And since it was Domino's was there any pizza residue in the box--that might account for the dulling....

I was going to say that I don't fool around with any of them. I observe how they work, keep them clean, and leave them alone.

Are ya'll trying to taste test blade steel or test it for sharpness? I guess I dont understand this "flavor" thing. I just want to try some pure Japanese carbon steel that will take an even sharper edge than Super Blue.

Potato peels have dirt on them, and dirt is notorious for being HORRIBLE on edges. Hmmm, isn't this why potato peelers were invented? It's a unitasker but worth it, to me. They can be sharpened with a SM rod and they are faster and safer than a knife.
