I don't currently have any but the liner lock is my favor to play with. Cut myself the most with that lock too.

I would say the phantom lock on the Meerkat. It's pretty slick.

My favorites are: compression, caged BB/bolt action, and liner/frame lock. Phantom is fun too.

Compression and Ball locks are fun, but I like the feel of actuating and closing a liner or frame lock the best.

The BBL for sure. Liner lock second. My Manix 2 and Cricket are a lot of fun for playing around.

Axis-Lock :p , by far the most fun to flip around. CBBL is very similar in engagement, but it requires a great deal of tension and that makes it hard to manipulate the mechanism single handedly. The Axis can be manipulated with just the thumb or just the index finger.

Second would be the compression lock. :D

Compression lock for sure, but the ball bearing was really fun too.

Ball bearing lock --> Liner lock --> Caly 3.5 back-lock

Back lock on my Endura/Delicas is NOT good to play around with, nearly gave me a heart attack and a severed finger. :D

Non locking UKPK

#12

Post by flex80 »

My favorite is actually non locking at all. There is something about the smooth solid movement of the UKPK as it goes from closed to mid open to full open then back that just feels good. I usually cycle open to close the most with these. Recently obtained a grey frn ukpk. Was a little worried of what I read here in the forums about the light feel in the back spring, but this one feels close to the first ukpk in g10...love it. However, to come keep with the topic...also enjoy the manix's ball bearing lock...silky smooth.

After acquiring a Blue FRCP Manix 2, I'd have to say the BBL is very addictive.

Oddly enough I find myself fiddling the most lately with my two new UKPK's. So, I guess my answer would be no lock :o

Compression by far. Probably the CBBL the least honestly...sorry, still love the knives though!

I was going to say that I don't fool around with any of them. I observe how they work, keep them clean, and leave them alone.
However, I see that what you really meant is do we mindlessly, inanely, stuporously, lip-dribblingly operate them because they feel good somehow.....
Therefor, I fool around with them all!

Liner Lock. It's a lot easier to disengage than my backlocks.
