"The washers should be phosphor bronze. You should be okay to use any of the above oils/greases. "

That is what I was mostly concerned with. If they are not plastic I don't have to worry about a reaction.

I don't open the knife at 8000 rpm. My built in rev limiter keeps me under 6 grand ...

I do not have any Breakfree.... not sure what that makes me.... I have the following:
RemOil spray can
Wilson Combat oil and grease in a syringe
3 in 1 (yeah the old stuff in the little white bottle that your dad used to use).

I am guessing the best I have is the Wilson oil, works great on my 1911s ...

how to oil a PM2???

I got to use the ParaMilitary2 today. Went squirrel hunting with my 15 and 12 yr old sons. They got one. (There is some dispute over who applied the felling shot but several 22 shells were expended....) Anyway I used my PM2 to skin it out tonight. Then I washed it all up and am wondering if I need ...

"Have you checked that the pivot isn't too tight? "

The pivot is fine. If I hold the lock the blade flips back and forth with little drag. Really sweet. The lock spring force is the source of the slowness.

Force of lock on PM2

I received my PM2 on NewYears eve. Been playing with it since then. The spring force on the lock mechanism is quite high. This causes the detent to really hold the blade shut. So it takes a lot of force to open the blade. It also takes a lot of force to unlock the lock.

My previous EDC of 10 years ...

I placed a preorder for a PM2 in early Nov at Cutlery Shoppe. I got an email last Tues that it was shipping. It was in the mailbox on Friday evening (just in time for New Years). Last I looked their site said it was on backorder. I doubt they received enough to satisfy all their orders.

This was ...

Mike,
do you have a schedule for these classes? I would like to go to one in my area (Pennsylvania).

Thanks,

sprint question

Did they do / are they going to do a sprint with S90V. How do I get in line for that? Or are they all spoken for? This may seem like common knowledge but I am pretty new to the Spyderco world.

Actually I think green G10 with something like ZDP189 would be about perfect. How do you find out what ...

Para-Military 2 PreOrder

I saw Cutlery Shoppe has a preorder for PM2s. They don't say when they will have them available....

I don't know when this first went up. I saw it Sat night. I was on their site about a week or so ago and there was no price and no way to preorder a PM2 then.

Do other retailers do such preorders?

Back about 1991 I bought my first "tactical folder" a Spyderco Endura, I guess 1st gen. Carried that for 8 years. Then bought a Benchmade AFCK with the liner lock. I've carried that ever since. I tend to like the bigger blades.

I do have a BM miniGriptillian for places where sheep dwell. I would ...

Military thickness

Hi all,
this is my first post here. I have gotten the itch for a new knife. Been looking at the Military and Paramilitary knives. I gather they have recessed liners in the handle scales. This should make for a thinner handle. However, I can not find a spec on how thick they are. So, how thick are ...
