Yup, hate to tell ya RIA, but this one was a labor of love on Sal's part. I would highly doubt there are any "royalties" (in the black anyway) to be had from this venture.

That said, I'm sure Sal will either be along to address the issue, or more likely will contact you privately shortly.

I will actually be in for this. I have always liked the R, for it's thinness and simplicity, but the holes made it too hard to keep gunk out of for EDC. I like it, bout time they for rid of the holes.

Yup, I had one a while back and it did the same thing. The tension of the clip would pull the blade tip to that side. It was a common problem with that one.

Checkin' in, I came on board around '00 and make it at least a couple times a week. (Momma said, if ya ain't got nothing good to say, then don't say anything at all. Sometimes that needs to be followed more often especially online.) Good to see folks, but I need to catch up with VW, Samo, yiterp, Ro...

I'm convinced the Whia set is a better driver, but Lowes has the Husky in stock year round for $6, and will replace it without question if/when there is a problem. The Husky is higher precision than any of the Craftsman drivers I looked at, and the "bit" style seem to fit better than the &...

Thanks guys. It was a fun, relaxing, little project. I've come to enjoy bringing well loved ones back to usefulness. Thanks Tony, you already helped me out quite a bit before I tackled it. Yours put mine to shame, but it will be a good carry with some character, especially for what it was before. Yo...

Kiwi rescale

I got this Kiwi off Ebay as shown in the first pics. Next are the in process, with the final results after that. Black Micarta. Looks better in real life, camera picks up ALL the details/scuffs. Good enough for a user and my first shot. http://spyderco.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=18031&am...

G-10 E4 with a side of SOG Powerlock for the wire ties. I'll also have a Case Sway Back Jack for later in the day at the family Christmas gathering (although the E4 will probably get used there also).

I have a knife with a 3.5" blade (2.75" +/- sharpened edge maybe), what would be considered a drop point, that is fairly thick but profiled down to a real thin edge for "dressing/skinning". Very sharp, but tough enough to push through joints etc. It works quite well for the job, ...

Paperwheels are my preference. Worked my way up from freehand, Sharpmaker, sandpaper/mousepad, 1"x30" belt, and several in between.
