Glad you didn't lose it to the TSA. As for your trip home, from what I hear, airlines charge though the nose for checked bags. Mailing back home might be a cost effective alternative. I'll refrain from making the obvious pun. ;)

I'm in Las Vegas for a guy's weekend. I put on a pair of jeans and found my Bradley Air in the pocket. Since I flew to LV that means I accidentally took it through airport security. Pretty sure this doesn't speak too well for the TSA.

I'd be all over a rookie sprint. I like the idea of CF scales and an upgraded steel, although the G-10 and vg-10 are perfectly fine. Deep carry clip.

The small Sebenza is a great knife, no doubt. The two primary things that a Sage has over the Sebenza are a Spyder hole and a deep cary clip. FWIW I sold my Sebenza and kept the Sage. I didn't sell my Mnandi, although now that I have a Bradley Air, it might go too...

Looking for a dive knive and therefore looking for a Spyderco.

Options:

Aqua - out of production, hard to find.

Caspian - out of production, easier to find. Looks great for gloved hands but I don't usually wear gloves.

Pacific Salt, Atlantic Salt - I don't usually think of a folder for a dive ...

I like the CF better. The Ti scales are beautiful but scuff easily. The CF shows less light wear, but MIGHT take less abuse. No mistake with either one, though. Both are among my favorite Spydercos.

I just bought a G-10 Manbug. For me, with my size hands, a knife this size needs a lanyard. It's just easier to hold and open with one.

If I were making recommendations, I would build a Sharpmaker II with a red plastic base and include extra coarse and extra fine rods (with the assumption that you already have the standard rods).
Then I would set the angles at something like 26 and 22 degrees and you're good to go.

I just don't get a folding kitchen knife. A folding knife that you can use for kitchen prep in a pinch, sure. But why would you make a kitchen knife harder to clean? Ane why would you want to carry one around with you?

It's a brass Peter Atwood lanslide. You can get them directly from him if you are very lucky, or on eBay.

I think the answer is clearly the Delica/Endura line. FRN is a nearly ideal handle material - lightweight, grippy, and nearly indestructible. It isn't outperformed by any of the higher end materials, it's just not as cool. I love carbon fiber/G-10/Ti scales as much as anyone, but they pretty much ...

The Chokwe is just about perfect for a knife it's size. I generally prefer smaller knives so I bought a Leafstorm. IMO the design has serious problems.
