I have carried both the Sage and the Caly3. In my pockets, at least, the Sage is noticeably "fatter" and heavier. If you can live without the lock, the flat ground UKPKs are the same form as the Caly3 and lighter in weight than the Sage. I have one of the original green G10 handled ones and carry it ...

I have had the tiny-chip problem with both S30V and ZDP-189 when I sharpen them to 30 degrees inclusive. Didn't think my uses were that tough - cutting random stuff around the ranch - but there you have it.
I now sharpen to 30 degrees all the way through, and then add a very small microbevel at 40 ...

However, we are comparing Spyderco S30V and ZDP189 so I stand by my statements regarding Spyderco S30V and ZDP189.
In fact ZDP189 can take an angle of 15 degree's per side and hold up better than S30V does. This seems to be born out in testing. I know my UKPK at 15 degree's per side likes to micro ...

Not to be rude, and nothing personal, but I think threads like this waste everybody's time. The subject has been discussed many times before.
If you need to pry on a regular basis, get a prying tool (prying with a screwdriver is really a misuse of a screwdriver) and get on with it. Or, if you want ...

I bought my wife an etched Cricket. She loves it and keeps it in a special drawer in her dresser. Then i got her the tattoo Dragonfly. It is still in its box and in the same drawer. Finally, I gave her a black blade Native. Now that one gets carried around when we have a work day at her folks' ranch ...

I really appreciate that Sal "eats" feedback, AND Sequimite I really appreciate everything you've done with the polls, many thanks AND ICSK the handle mockups are great (although personally I don't really get the whole handle color thing I know a lot of folks do) AND I love my G10/S30V leaf blade ...

I am a little concerned that the various threads about "flicking" and "the Spyderco drop" on this forum won't help the cause if that NY DA ever sends a minion here to search. Personally I think it is ridiculous to buy a nice Spyderco knife and then perhaps loosen the pivot and abuse it that way, as ...

The dreaded Grapefruit Test for EDCs
I have been using some wonderful Spydercos for EDC since last summer, including the Caly3 CF, Walker CF, Native, Sage 1, and UKPK. I like them all, and within reason any one of them is a fine EDC for the office environment I work in. I wanted to pick one for EDC - if you carry different ones, then ...

It's interesting what our perceptions about threats are. Several people are on here today congratulating NH on their new knife law. Now that is great and fits right in with the "live free or die" state (I lived just over the border in Vermont for 18 years). In addition, some of these folks also seem ...
