I think everyone will agree that the police 3 is a much refined design based on the original Police. I am wondering whether there's a plan to upgrade the current SS line to the new design. No titanium, no super steel, just a plain old school full metal handle with the better design. If we can go ...

That depends on the success of the new design. All attempts at variations to the Police have failed in the past. If the design is well received, we'll consider a SS version.

Yup, VG-10 would be just fine. Also, if the lock's retention power for heavy blades is a issue, will a ballbearing lock do the trick?

Personally, I would be just fine with the use of VG-10 steel. Just throw in some G10 handles, a Compression Lock, Nested stainless steel liners, and call it a wrap ...

since the new police model will be "screwed" instead of rivetted, how about making interchangable SS/G10/CF slabs and let we spyderco fans use our own imagination?

I like my SS Police. But I like it because it is a massive shiny gigantic purdy lump of steel, that is Beautiful and a Classic , That and Denzel had it in Training ...

Just love that smooth touch and the slimness of the SS police!!!
