It's not impossible at all. I've seen plenty of modified knives on the forums that feature sharpened spines/swedges. Usually this is performed with a belt sander but I'm sure you could diamond stones or something similar.

I don't think that it is a very useful feature to have, however.

I don't think it's a bad thing at all. People pre-order knives all of the time before the final design is unveiled. It seems like the same thing happens in any market where people have a chance to pre-purchase.

I say keep the clip, we have enough models with wire clips. The Delica is a workhorse of a knife and needs a 'real' clip on it :D .
