I believe Sal has stated that they have not one, but TWO Titanium scaled Chaparral versions they are planning...I guess great minds think alike, eh :D . I think they are planned for regular production down the line. Also, he mentioned a Chaparral Slip-it...that's the one that gets me excited! Aweso...

If you consider S30V a supersteel then yes I do. If I stay on top of keeping up sharpening, it takes maybe 10 to 20 passes on the 40 degree stones to get my knives sharp enough to shave hair.

Of course I like them all but the one that looks most promising as a user is the Chapperal. The ones that caught my eye in the "I want that!" sense were the Native V, Squeak, Tuff, and Navaja. I am really intrigued by the grippy TI scale of the tuff. It would be cool to see this on some ot...

I like Kabar a lot, not so much for folders though.

I've only had one Kershaw and I wasn't really all that impressed with it (it was a leek). I keep meaning to try another one but never get around to it because Spydercos are so much cooler.

I don't know about that just because it is an unknown brand and I like to stick with name brands for tools. I believe that the Sears dual saw was tested in either consumer reports or popular mechanics, and they had awesome results with it. The two bladed system really did counteract binding and make...

It's tough to pick just three! What types of tasks are we talking here, as general as possible? Maybe something like this: 1. I don't even own a multitool, but I'd go with something like a Swisstool or LM Wave for the pliers, knife, saw, screwdrivers, marking capability, and "hammer". 2. S...

What you're proposing would be a knife that cost as much as a Delica with inferior ergos.

I don't think that there have been any that came from the factory with a sharpened double bevel, but I have seen them sharpened before-I think that the Police gets this treatment sometimes because the tip is enclosed by the handle when the knife is closed.

I like the idea of having a simple quiz that people have to answer before joining, I don't know if that is possible with this forum software but it sounds like a good idea to me.

You get more leverage with a 'back' lock, but realistically there's no difference. They function the same way. Many on the forums refer to any variant of the back lock as a back lock or lockback, regardless of the location of the cut out. I believe Al Mar invented the "mid lock", so some p...

I'm just really not a collector, but I like buying knives to try them out. The problem is that I usually end up using them, at least a little, and have to sell at a loss.

I haven't found anything I like better than S30V, but I don't have any experience with the really super steels or with Carpenter's steels. If the two Carpenter variants turn out to be good though I'm all for putting that steel into more knives. If Crucible can't/is going to stop supplying S30V, why ...

I think that it wears beautifully, maybe we'll see some pics of some sages that have seen harder use but I don't think we'll see any worn TI that looks bad. The TI gives the knife a really nice character.
