Pic request for a used, worn titanium sage.

Anyone have a picture of a handle of a nicely used sage titanium?

I wanted to see if I had any phobias on titanium handles.

Thanks!

Just take a blow torch to it and give it a nice teak! ;) Should look good.

My Sage 2 isn't worn enough to look bad at all.

I will get some pix for you tomorrow, don't have a light box and can't get the scratches to show up to well right now. I will say the "character" marks just make it yours ;)

Not sure about the Sage handles but I believe that people used to 'refresh' their Sebenza handles with a scotchbrite pad. I did it once.

I don't have mine handy, but I've got to say I'm impressed by the durability of the finish. Certainly it's better than stainless, though not as good as G-10 or CF (no pattern to hide the scratches.)

Mine gets fairly light EDC-type use. If you took it into the bush and did some batoning or root-digging you'd get more scratches on it, for sure--though by that point you'd also have some nice scars on the blade, too. ^_^

Here's mine:

Got it the year they came out, 2009 I think. It gets carried about half of the time as an EDC knife. I throw coins and pens and whatever else in my pocket with it. My blade looks worse than my scales because I don't clean it enough.

I think that it wears beautifully, maybe we'll see some pics of some sages that have seen harder use but I don't think we'll see any worn TI that looks bad. The TI gives the knife a really nice character.

I know I said I would get you pictures... but for the life of me I couldn't get the scratches to show up! (which is a good thing right?)

So let me help you by telling you that the Titanium holds up very well and the scratches are not anywhere near as bad as something you would see on a Stainless Steel knife. For example, my SS Poliwog is a safe queen now, but when I was carrying it it accumulated more scratches in that short time than I thought it could. This Sage has been used A LOT and it looks newer than the Poliwog.

If you are on the fence about this knife go ahead and jump over because it is a fantastic one. I really love frame locks as well so that is just another reason why it is great.

wow - thanks so much for the pictures and tips everyone!

for me, i like frame locks more than liner locks.

but i didnt know if i had ocd about titanium handles because i have always had less scratch visible handle materials on my knives.

so i will give it some more thought on whether i should get the sage 1 or sage 2.

thanks!

The SageII has the best finish I've seen, it's very tough for titanium.
Sal said their finish is a secret, but it's a combo of blasting and tumbling.

I thought it was anodized. If so, it's a VERY serious coat.
