Typically a posted $1 fee is called a "Holding Fee". In short, it is a vendor link to your card information until the actual purchase goes through; then it usually disappears. Good luck and enjoy your Spyderco when you get it!

I like them David - Tom fixed me up last month with a Delica and it hasn't left my pocket since. I have more valuable pocket knives, and knives I thought I liked better, but my new FFG Krein Delica cuts and sharpens like no other. Did you consider going FFG on the wave-removed piece?
