I love the smooth opening of my para, and I wouldn't worry about it coming open since it only comes tip down carry. I never been a fan of the para before, till I bought one, now I EDC it everyday. I'm even wanting to get some more paras. I think it makes a great all around knife with the FFG, s30v ...

I never even touch the blade, just depress the lock and let it fall.

Spyderco Hossums, hard use outdoor knife?

Here lately I've been really looking for a good, large fix blade for some outdoor use. If I get one, I want one that can take a beating and really be a great hard use FB. I've narrowed it down to a RTAK II or a Cold Steal Trail Master both in 1095 steels, but I've always wanted a Spyderco Hossum ...

I did the same and returned my digital para to dealer for same reason you are saying. Must be a bad batch. Havent heared any thing yet but the compression lock should not be that tight. I have many para`s and i never experianced this promblem.

I took some fine grit sand paper and cleaned ...

I just got a new Digital Camo para, and I'll tell you the lock up on it is TIGHT, very tight, almost too tight for my liking. The lock "snaps" every time I release the lock, so its in there good. Has no play at all, had it for a few days now and been playing and using it lot, and still locks up ...

Wow, for a starting collection, you have great taste. Judging by the price tag on the boxes, looks like you have a local dealer(could be wrong), wish I did, probably why you were able to make great choices, you got to actually handle them before buying. The D2 Para is next on my list, unless the ...

Why not buy an FRN endura and just keep your SS one as a keepsake of your first :spyder: ? The spare parts kit only comes with the steel liners, washers and screws, not the handle, plus the SS enduras can't be taken apart unless you drill out the rivets/pins.

Don't have a catbyrd, but do have a Tenacious and would probably be the better choice. Has a larger surface on the liner's "unlock", so it would be alot easier to push in to unlock the blade. Also has the G-10, so its lighter in weight(1.4oz lighter). As far as jimping goes, the tenacious's jimping ...

I really can't tell anything from your photo. I can say that the flat ground Enduras are fairly thin behind the edge (mine measured about 0.023") so the edge bevel doesn't have to be very wide. The edge bevel on my Krein regrind Endura is less than a millimeter wide at an edge angle of 25 degrees ...

Need an edge reginded, poorly done IMO

I've been wanting to buy my dad a Spyderco for his birthday coming up soon and finally made up my mind on what to give him. I know from talking to my grandmother(his mother) that he's bought several knives over the years, but I don't think he's ever really bought a quality knife, atleast not one in ...

Out of my 9 spydercos, its my favorite. Great steel, love the carbon fiber look along with how they did the wire clip(only clip that has NO wear or scratches on it). Its also the only knife I have that I haven't even touched the pivot screw, very smooth operation and lock up. Its also the same ...
