That post was very helpful Apophis. I've noticed that most of Sal's personally designed and signed knives have a much better (better is subjective, but in my opinion this quality is better) blade to handle ratio than some of the other Spyderco knives. While the chaparral is similar in design / shape ...

I've looked at all the knives you guys have suggested so far! The yojimbo is cool although they're fairly pricey, the air is REALLY cool in my book as I always wanted an original locking kiwi in stag (like the wharnie blades). Its also very pricey though and I always have keys and things in my ...

Time for a new knife - recommendations please!

So its been a while since I kept up with Spyderco and knives in general, and I'm thinking its about time to pick up a new knife! 4 years ago I bought a mini persian - I loved it and EDC'ed it for 2 years. Then I bought a G-10 Poliwog and rotated that into my EDC for the last 2 years. Keeping with ...

G-10 Poliwog - Excellent EDC

I recently bought a G-10 Poliwog from a forum member here and wanted to post my thoughts on it. I have been eying this knife for a long time but have always held off on buying one for a few reasons. I am mainly an EDC'er that appreciates a quality knife; I am not really a collector and I don't have ...

i like the g10 version better.

i used to own the 75mm Persian and the action was horrible, are these two smooth like a regular Delica / Endura etc...?

Agreed. I have EDC'd a 75mm persian every day for the last 2 years and while I love the knife, the action is definitely far from light or smooth ...

G10 Poliwog Pic Request!

Hey guys, I've been EDC'ing my Mini Persian for the last 4 months or so and I'm lookin at picking up something new - the G-10 Poliwog has caught my eye lately and it looks so unique! I just havent seen that many pics comparing its size. So here's my request - can anyone possibly take a few pics ...

I'm thinkin about pickin up a G10 poli to go with my mini persian but I'm kinda on the fence about how wide it is when folded - can anyone post a pic of the G10 poliwog with like a delica, native, or ideally the mini persian? Any opinions on the folded width? Thanks!

I have a micarta-related question or two, maybe you guys can help me out...
Whats the difference between canvas micarta and linen micarta?
Which one does the mini persian have?
Also, if my hands sweat or if the knife gets wet, this won't in any way damage the micarta scales right?
Correct me if I ...

I've been watching the forums every day for the last couple months and in that time I've seen quite a few Caly Jr's sell - they weren't all burgundy, many were gray and black, but I've seen a burgundy or two sell as well. So, while it sucks that you lost yours, don't worry TOO much because I'm sure ...

Yeah, my original post was probably not worded as well as it could have been - I wouldn’t expect any knife to withstand "a ton of abuse" nor would I ever subject one to it. I just meant, I wouldn’t have to worry about the tip snapping off during daily cutting tasks like opening plastic clamshell ...

How heavy duty is the G10 Delica?

Hey guys, I just sold my native and am looking to replace it with a delica after finally handling an FRN delica in the store - I like the feel of the nested liners and it just feels like a nicer knife (to me) than the native (plus I am not a huge fan of choils). I also managed to pick up a Benchmade ...

I was just in Gander MTN the other day looking at knives and saw they had a delica in one of the cases. I asked to see it and I was very surprised - I thought that it would have a very similar feel to my Native but man was I wrong - the thing felt so solid with the full liners... I had been looking ...

Spyderco is the paragon of what a company should be; they exercise modern day outside-the-box thinking to create the best possible knife they can, while communicating directly with and listening to their customers.

I've got my fingers crossed for the dodo!

Pic Request: D4W and Benchmade Mini Grip

Hey guys, I'm not trying to be a traitor but just for size purposes, does anyone have a mini griptilian of any kind? A 556 would be preferred but a 555 or 557 will work too, if anyone has one, can you please post a couple of pics of open, closed, overhead shot to show thickness and maybe clip up ...
