Looks great!
Please don't take any better pictures as it will send me over the edge and cost me dearly in more ways than one! As it is your already making this extremely difficult for me to hold off buying the G10 Persian until next year
I suppose I'll have to make do with my original C83 until then... :p

RIOT, there was a thread here a couple years ago where Ed discussed this. It begins tighter and wears in. He wants it that way, and if you bought a custom from him that's how it would come as well. I believe his feeling was the tighter tolerances which caused that feeling led to a longer, tighter lifespan for the knife.i used to own the 75mm Persian and the action was horrible, are these two smooth like a regular Delica / Endura etc...?
Spyderco does a lot of work to make their collaboration knives true to their designers intent and desires. They are all like that and it would probably have been easier to make them all the same as the endura/police/chinook, etc.
BTW, I keep telling myself that I don't really need any more VG10 knives as I literally have over 30 but when I look at both the persians I begin to weaken. That G10 FFG especially.

Agreed on all points.npueppke wrote:You know, I don't like bolsters, but that red version works! I also like the black, quite a lot!

Agreed. I have EDC'd a 75mm persian every day for the last 2 years and while I love the knife, the action is definitely far from light or smooth, and this is after opening and closing it thousands of times. I can easily flick it open, open it in a (i think its called) reverse grip with my pinky finger, etc just from having so much practice with it but I just bought a G-10 poliwog off a member of this forum and its hard to go back to the action of the persian now... the poliwog is smooth as glassss! By comparison the persian now feels like a chore to open and close.RIOT wrote:i like the g10 version better.

I have the red and it really is gorgeous. Bolsters, scales and clip all seem to combine to make a really attractive knife.RIOT wrote:you are right, i forgot the red one was polished g10 instead of micarta.
i guess what i was saying is i like the one with no bolsters and all g10
The "new" one with no bolsters is growing on and severely tempting me.
The pricing is interesting. The new one is certainly priced reasonably, but it really makes what I paid for the red look like a bargain. :D
