Re: Happy Thanksgiving (what's your carry)

One of my grails came in yesterday. Gayle Bradley Folder .. I am carrying that today. Knife was preowned but barely used. This is a really amazing knife, the linerlock is so fantastically executed and every single aspect of it is well thought out.

Here is a next to my recent favorite K390 ...

JD Smith.

If I could keep only 5 collaborations of the 30 or so I have, I would keep the following:

C46 Bob Lum
C58 JD Smith
C63 Keating Chinook2
C218 Hennicke Opus
C248 McCann Canis
The C58 looks amazing. Great choice!

Re: What is your favorite Spyderco collaboration knife?

I'm working off the assumption here that "collaboration" means any Spyderco knife that isn't designed by Sal and/or Eric Glesser.

In that case, my top 3 favourite Spyderco collaborations are:
The Yojimbo family of knives (Yojimbo 2, Ronin 2, YoJumbo, MicroJimbo), designed by Michael Janich

That's the large one.
I thought the black one looked stunning, the red one is like a supermodel wearing a red dress and you can't help but keep looking.

Re: What is your favorite Spyderco collaboration knife?

I have a lot of the collab models, there's a Rock Lobster in my pocket right now.

If I had to pick one for the top of the pile it would be the Spidiechef.

But honorable mentions for everything Slysz, Perrin, the aforementioned Rock Lobster, the Kapara, the Stovepipe, and the list goes on ...

Re: What is your favorite Spyderco collaboration knife?

It’s the GB1 for me and nothing else is close. It has proven to be a tank of a knife.

After I saw the Gayle Bradley's video explaining his design choices for the original GB folder, I simply had to start looking for one. It took me a good bit of time, but I have one coming in the mail that's in ...

Have you tried the light weight version yet? Loving mine so far after having it a couple weeks.
Not yet, been thinking about it. The thinner blade stock makes it attractive.

This is such a hard quetion, there are so many I like and so many I still have yet to try. @srivats I also have an eye out for a GB1, tried a GB2 for a few years but think the GB1 will be the real winner for me if I can find one at the right price that is.
There is one on ebay right now!

I really like the size of Lil' Native. And I prefer the backlock version than the compression lock version.

What is your favorite Spyderco collaboration knife?

I did a search and did not find a specific discussion on this, so thought would start a new thread.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

A gem that is less appreciated than it should be .. Spyderco Brouwer.

Mine is the pre-CQI version and I don't mind the clip as much as I thought I would from the reviews. S30V stays plenty sharp and it's a very nice blade shape and knife action came well dialed in.

I hope it’s still a hollow grind… and thin bte !!! Could you elaborate?
Yes, still hollow ground and still thin BTE. The blade came so sharp from the factory too, it cuts so nicely. Great knife.

I think that happened with the Cruwear Sprint Run last year.
Thanks. I saw that but read that that version did not have a hollow grind so did not pursue much of the discussions since that was an appeal factor for me. This latest version makes an already very good knife just great.

Centofante 3 - New - Not pinned anymore !?

I added a new knife to my collection - Centofante 3 and the blade is every bit as good as everyone talks about and is going to be great for office EDC. I got it new from a well known authorized dealer so I know it's not a fake. The knife came with the clip setup for right side tip down carry and I ...
