Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
My first Spyderco is in the mail for tomorrow, the DLT exclusive Para 3 they have on sale for Black Friday (Purple G10/CruWear). Looking forward to it; if I wind up liking it I am thinking about that upcoming Para 2 Salt in MagnaCut as well...
Great choice and I’m thinking you’re gonna like ...

Week 4 update!
This will be the last update for the NOV 2023 rotation. Moving forward I'll be creating a continuous thread that documents all of my rotations instead of separate threads for each month.
In terms of rankings, here is where we stand:

Re: Maxamet sharpening is no joke.
Huh, this has me perpetually wondering if I am missing something huge about sharpening. It can take me ten minutes to get a basic edge on a simple carbon steel, much less remove a chip. My only thought would be I don't use enough pressure to remove material at hardly any rate , but I have ...

I secured a Stretch XL. Almost bought this a few months ago. The price was too good to pass up ($199).

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..
I had an extra set of micarta para 3 scales laying around. Decided to practice a dye job on them. Used guidance from JSumm.
Sanded these with 600 grit sandpaper.
Went a little nuts with applying a heat tolerant grease.
Dunked them for 60-90 second intervals numerous times using Rit Dye More ...

Well, I have a lot of mixed feelings so far.

What makes a knife good?
What makes a knife good in your eyes? What do you look for? What is important to you?
For me, it comes down to three points of criteria:
1. How well the knife performs (cutting, deploying/closing, how easy it is to manipulate in the hand, etc.).
2. How easy it is to maintain the knife (sharpening ...

Re: Superhawk
Agreed. I’ve been debating between a somewhat too short Tasman Salt SE and a somewhat too prone to rust Matriarch. Both are a compromise. What I’d really like is a 4~4.5inch SE ultra stainless bladed hawkbill with a linered tough as old boots handle (FRN would be good) in a colour I can find in ...

Military over the Police LW. I prefer G10 over FRN. The Military seems more balanced and feels better in hand in my opinion.
