Depends what kind of look you’re going for. Don’t underestimate what some mineral oil could do for those scales! That will make the natural color really pop, if that’s something that might interest you.

The oil on the scales gets my vote. If you have to dye it, an olive green dye makes the most sense to me with the existing brown color

I plan on getting a Manix 2 Crucarta and dyeing it a dark green.

That first picture is astounding. I am considering a dark gray if I pull the trigger on this dye project. Did you try to fade from each side? You're giving me a lot of inspiration!

I’ve been impressed with that cool dye job every time I see it 👍…... I just don’t know if I have the guts to do it to mine …..🫣

After cleaning them, I dabbed some vasoline on some random areas in the middle. I would use a more heat tolerant grease next time. I then dyed the whole thing in an aquamarine. Then I used a darker blue bath to fade from both sides.

Recently, I sanded down the edges to add chamferring and decided to dunk it again in an aquamarine full bath.

Makes me think, I have an extra set of CruCarta PM2 scales. Maybe I'll try something ! However I only have graphite rit dye more. Maybe micarta doesn't require rit dye more and simple rit dye can do the trick ?

Because I had to pay 27€ for that small bottle.

Regular RIT Dye seems to work just fine.

Thanks Jeff, I know that with G10 it's not the same story, but since micarta is made from fabric, that's pretty logic !
I need to check my whole collection and do something with a color I don't own. Maybe teal or a bright green. Rust color might be cool too.
