This is probably so simple I'm gonna be embarrassed I asked, but here goes: on the Dragonfly 2 box (C28PBK2), the upper right corner of the label has "Dragonfly 2 Pin". What does "Pin" signify?

As for not carrying a knife any longer, I would disagree. You are obviously a knife guy, like all of us here, and it is part of your identity. You could certainly go with some smaller and lighter choices, but I say keep a handful to carry. Carrying no knife at all for a knife guy is like walking ...

For routine sharpening/touch-ups, I like easy. And for me, that's doing it at 30 degrees inclusive, and sometimes adding a few final light strokes with the blade turned in just slightly toward the rods. That way, I don't even have to change the rods from the 30 degree slots to the 40 degree slots ...

I like my Urban FG (leaf)---small, light, and deep wire clip.

lol, you must only cut paper or arm hair with it and think it's sooo sharp. well, I use scissors for paper and a razor for shaving.

Ken, thanks for the advice. If I'm reading you correctly, even if I'm just knocking off the shoulder on one side (of an "uneven" blade), I should continue to hit the edge on the other side.

Or you can keep on the course with the Sharpmaker and the vertical blade and reprofile the edge so that you have the same angle on both sides. This can be done by honing only the side that has the odd angle, but I would continue on both sides to keep your edge centered...and hopefully your bevels ...

Great heritage on that knife, thanks for telling the story. Your photos are also terrific.
