Re: Pivot screw problems

Well we will see if loc tite gets it fixed?
This k390 has a heavy layer of protective grease applied at the factory to prevent patina
Imo this is the culprit?
So I used some 90% alcohol to slowly remove all the excess grease and then add loc tite to the pivot, then just tighten the body screws ...

Hello
I just got a k390 endela on Saturday 6/14/25 , and used it a couple times
At end of the day I found the pivot screw ( luckily) in my pocket >:[
If a put some blue loktight on it does that void the warranty?
Or do I need to send it In ?
Never had the screws start falling out on me , ever ...

A photo would really help, as said.
Yeah I know, but I don’t have the format to post pictures on here

It probably just heavy grind lines instead of being polished like my other two

K390 endela corrugated on one side

Hello , just got my Father’s Day gift,a K390 serrated endela
Is it normal to have one side of the bland corrugated on the back side of the blade opposite the
Serrated side , my vg10 model doesn’t have any corrugating, k390( I can run my thumbs nail down the
Blade and it sounds like a zipper “

Re: Ever have a lock fail in normal use?

Yes I broke the spine of a delica cleaning wild hog !
Got the intestines out and needed to open the rib cage and got the knife up against the breast bone and gave it a hard jerk and it folded up , tried it again and same thing, sent it back to spyderco and they replaced it, I still have that clip it ...

Re: PM2 in 15V or Magnacut or Cruwear ?

As a layman and advocate of buying limited time offers, 15V all day long, I have one 15v on order
And am anxious to get it, the other two will be around for a while

P.s
Buy a cheap fixed blade to baton and save your self some heartache

Serrated K390 sharpening?

Just ordered a serrated k390 endela , any suggestions on how to sharpen it after I put some hard use on it, I have my process & tools for vg10 serrated, but I think K390 serrated will be a different beast? Does it have to have diamond equipment?

Re: Edge rolling with Pacific Salt

LC200n Pacific salt has been sitting in my drawer for a long time
For my EDC use it’s not a good steel
Every single bale of hay I cut the net off turned the lc200n serrated into a useless knife with out a complete sharpening job , a real PIA when I need to cut open 3-4 a day , by #2 I had to saw ...

Re: CBN / Diamond spray

I have always assumed that Spyderco doesn't produce anything of the sort merely because other companies have those bases covered, but I guess I would be curious whether Spyderco thinks that this would be a good product to have under their own brand. I do use a diamond paste on a balsa strop for ...

I’m from Texas and it’s usually hot as **** and I’m in shorts or summertime clothes

Re: When Is A Serrated Edge Really Sharp?

I have about quit buying plainedge spyderco because the serrated works so well. I may try a combo edge spyderco.

Yeah my EDC is serrated, but if you’re a hunter and not a rope or box cutter guy or camper, then there’s no escaping a plain edge when skinning or gutting a animal, imo it’s ...

Re: When Is A Serrated Edge Really Sharp?

I’m way too OCD on how sharp I keep my endela , I keep it razor sharp with a ceramic triangle
Sharpest I ever got it was 80 Bess test , but that’s not day to day

Re: The near perfect folding hunter

I hunt, a lot.
I don’t think corrosion resistance was ever a concern for me, when it comes to using my hinting knife. K390 is a real great steel, as it offers great edge retention as well as durability, which you need when you hit bone.
The original Stretch design, with less pointy tip would be a ...

Being a professional ( since 1990) , my favorite is the Stretch in v-toku2 , best ergonomic shape
And easy to maintain the edge, I have other stretches in different steels and all are awesome

Re: First Spyderco?

1993 I had graduated from college and was heading to Alaska with my uncle to do a DIY moose hunt, walked into Marburg sporting goods to buy a backpack and saw the spyderco knives on display, and saw a delica g-1 serrated and a OS3 hunter 440v and eureka I had to have them for the trip , the thought ...
