Re: We don't actually need to Magnacut *all* the knives

MagnaCut serrated tanto !!
Serrated spydie edge length & PE 45* end
Or maybe a MC serrated stretch 2
Otherwise I doubt I will have much interest in it over M4 or vg10

Re: Which endura to get?

I'll second what DrHE says....you can't go wrong. I have a partially serrated black FRN plain Jane Endura 4 that my son got me years ago. I recently began carrying it for work again and wonder why I ever quit carrying it in the first place. Amen amigo, I carry and cherish my vg10 blue frn PE And do...

Re: Question about my Delica 4

None of my Delicas have the designer logo; my most recent one was purchased brand new in 2018 or 2019, and it is definitely legit. I own many Delicas; I bought my first Delica way back in 1997. I wasn’t even aware that the Delica/Endura/Endela models even had the designer logo on them. That must ha...

Re: Lanyard Hole In Spyderco Models: Important Or Not?

I love a lanyard, working on a ladder or needing to cut a fishing leader, I like grabbing a short lanyard hanging out of my pockets, it’s just as important as a thumb hole to me !! Also rope getting wrapped around a boat propeller, a fast grab is a must! Some of my lanyard are wrest loops slide on w...

Re: How to get started with Spyderco Chaparral

^^^^^ good advice buy a 8cr13mov easy to sharpen and practice practice practice ^^^^^ 300 cardboard boxes a day!!! after you learn the basics on knife sharpening ( and there’s no short cuts in learning to sharpen) Use 2 knives 1. Vg10 fully serrated endura ( IMO vg10 is very good steel easy to sharp...

Re: How dry do I need to keep tool steel folders?

I've yet to rust VG-10 or ATS-55 on my Endela or Delica, respectively. Run both through the dishwasher to remove crud from backpacking without a hint of oxidation. Granted, these are technically stainless so I dont know what Vivi is eating to make his sweat so corrosive to VG-10. Lay off the raw on...

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife

Have Salts in many different sizes but for me the Pacific Salt in SE H1 is by far the best hard use folder I know. Question? Do you think H1 or vg10 holds a sharp edge longer than LC200N? I am busy as heck and don’t have any equipment to sharpen my salt 2 , a week of edc has knocked the edge keenne...

Use a Sharpmaker rod or something similar to break the edge. Don't go too far or you'll find that your thumb slips off
I assume I can polish the jimp slightly also? Which rod is best?

I used my salt2 hard today, and needed to open and close it 100’s times, and dog gone my thumb is sore as blisters, so what’s the fix? When give away or sell this thing and buy a pacific salt ( bigger is better for a task knife) And have the same issue I need a fix so I have a comfortable work knife...

As a spyderco nut I follow the msrp online and shake my head in disbelief, my wife knows that I
Can find the best deals and knows that due to none compete clauses a factory is definitely the worst deal around!
Example msrp on a fishhunter fixed is like $200 and $120 online real time buy

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife

The Salt 2 is Delica sized, and frankly it’s just too small for my taste, for a work/task knife. I’m looking towards an Atlantic or Pac Salt myself. Yeah definitely worth the extra $10 to get the pac salt if you’re looking at a work knife And holy smokes the spydie hole is sharp enough to irritate ...

Re: Help pick a full serrated knife

I think longer blades are more ideal for SE knives, as they tend to be used for slicing cuts more than push cuts. Yes , I agree mine just arrived and I think I would have been happier with a larger version. It’s a Christmas gift from the wife and I don’t think she would notice that I exchanged it T...
