Re: MT36P – K294 MICROCLEAN Mule Team Dropping Soon!
As a kid my daughter always digested knowledge faster than others. She received awards and accolades bcuz she was the smartest in her grade. She would tutor others bcuz she has a way of helping others understand what they couldn't. She has the intelligence to persue many different career paths. She ...

Re: MT36P – K294 MICROCLEAN Mule Team Dropping Soon!
If your paying for someone's "expert" knowledge or skill set it's human nature to be suspicious. In my walk with faith I understand everyone has their own cross to carry. I am who I am from carrying my own. I sometimes need to sit back and recognize others travel different terrains when th...

Re: MT36P – K294 MICROCLEAN Mule Team Dropping Soon!
Shawn I believed did the catra coupons. I'm not sure he did everything for Larrin. My backyard bro science is more flexible. I let larrin do his thing, and I do mine. There's many in this hobby who use fixed systems like hapstone, kme, wicked edge etc who get great results. To me that's better suite...

Re: MT36P – K294 MICROCLEAN Mule Team Dropping Soon!
I don't use strops for testing or my own personal carry. I have even been gifted free leather strops and compounds from Max aka stroppystuff. I have always endorsed that these would be the edge I would use and carry. With or without a blindfold I can get clean cuts across the grain on newspaper with...

Re: MT36P – K294 MICROCLEAN Mule Team Dropping Soon!
After 3 to 4 edges performance hits a plateau. Happens on every production folder I have ever tested. Sometimes happens on customs/midtech if I chose to cut test them or not. Most armchair quarterback reviewers read the script from the same fortune cookie anyways. Right now we haven't reached the pe...

The plain edge leafjumper has been my favorite carry as of late.

Screenshot_20240521_151425_Gallery.jpg Very cool! I hear there may be a linerlock made out of Golden one day that looks very similar to that one. I was at bladeshow last year, and the prototype for Shawn's folder was on display. I might have been one of the first 5 ppl to find out spyderco and him ...

Re: MT36P – K294 MICROCLEAN Mule Team Dropping Soon!
Screenshot_20240522_083100_Gallery.jpg I cut off the factory edge, and put 1 of my own. The burr cut off very easily from what I saw. The result was only 190 however I usually see a performance increase in more testing. I believe my 10V pm2 and Para 3 both hit 375 when it hit their peak. The magnac...

Re: Steeltoez83 testing log
Got around to testing the buck clone and the leafjumper. I goofed on the 2nd edge of the clone, but the 3rd edge confirmed the 1st edge. At 40% of 70 I did 28 slices, followed by 14 chops on ice to reach 60% It passed, so I did 5 more slices and it failed at 47. In sharpening it sounds like a squeak...

Re: Get me excited about M398
M398 doubled my Aeb-l test cut numbers. Makes perfect sense to me seeing those results with feathersticks. I define toughness as the steels ability to absorb impact, and it's effect on edge retention. I lock my wrist when feathersticking, so I will assume your not twisting or hitting rocks.

Re: Is Spyderco missing out on the fixed blade market?
I gravitate more towards custom work when it comes to fixed blade options. I do feel spyderco has a good prescence in the fixed blade market, just not as dominant as they are in others. The mule team endorses the fork around and find out mentality which I appreciate alot.

Spyderco leafjumper in k390. One of my favorite carry knives. I have cut tested seki k390 before, but nothing for this thread. 475 is right where my stretch and delica tested before.

Re: Social networks vs. forums - possible return of content to the forums?
I think of social media as a digital diary. A legacy I can leave to my daughter when I'm gone. A blueprint on how to indulge in a hobby, and to help pay it forward to newcomers. Some are strictly interested in just the results nothing more. It's my hope everyone I've impacted with my hobby created a...

Re: Steeltoez83 testing log
Screenshot_20240506_115548_Gallery.jpg This week I'm testing an obvious clone of the buck 110 in 8cr13mov. I saw this at my local hardware store for 20 dollars. I haven't listed any spyderco 8cr testing results in this thread, so it should be a fun comparison. Build quality is very poor on the clon...

Re: Steeltoez83 testing log
400 grit cbn stone used for 3 minutes on my HIC mule. I expected it to exaggerate damage from the ice whacks but it didn't. It could be the damage was so small it just avoided it all together.
