Re: Where do you grip large knives with a choil?

The militarily does have the best choil. So easy to transition from 4 finger grip on the handle to the choil and back. I like the older stretch for the same reason. I don't like deep choils except the Native 5 as it feels likes its the primary grip for using the Native 5.

Re: The Age Old Question .... E4 or D4

I would say if you have to ask, the Endura. I prefer the Delica but if you like larger then there is your answer. The Endela is coming, I’m tempted on that one. Alas I have enough for now.

Re: D4 (family) in M4

I think the current K390 is as close as you will get. Some like HAP40 better than M4.

Re: The perceived need for instantaneous one hand operation has driven folding knife design into a dead end

I think as a hobby all types of knives are great. Good to have variety. As a serious tool, Spyderco are at the top for me. When I was in the service, I used one hand opening and SE blades in some tight quarters. Rolling decks on small boats in storms and tossing in the ocean desperate to cut a line....

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Endela SE. I have several new folders but can’t seem to switch gears to try out the new blades other than a quick unbox when listening to music in the evening.

Jester has to be up there. Pre Covid I carried a manbug zdp-189 as my office carry. Most carried knife. Jester would be a great option for the office environment.

Re: The Watu, the lil' Nilakka, and why thin grinds matter.

The Watu is a really nice package. I’m considering a back up. I have a super blue Delica and Hap40 stretch that are both thinner than the standard production. If you like thin the Watu should be in your list.

Great presentation on the grip differences! Helped me understand the Endura 4 grip as it has been on and off for me.

Re: Wich full serrated comp lock to buy??..

It may be small but the lil native comp lock SE packs a serious punch, FFG SE. I took the wire clip off of mine and it is a legit cutter.

Re: Endura 4 handle mod

I can second the Endela handle. They rounded off that first point and made the rear end a bit wider. Best handle so far. The K390 version will get the Endela into more hands.
