Re: Why CPM 3V

I whole heartedly second CPK for your fixed blade 3V needs! I actually met BBB at the CPK table at BladeShow a few years ago. Doc Larrin was there too. Those three nerding out on heat treat is next level progression. Seriously cool to see those three together that year as it was right after MC came ...

Re: Is the Wharncliffe a good blade for a first serrated edge?

I’ll agree with what he said and I’ll add that I find them to be a great compromise between a hawksbill blade and a more traditional blade shape with belly. More versatile than the hawk, but still having very efficient pull cuts.

Re: Spyderco 2025 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

These are starting to trickle in to dealers

Spyderco Police Model, TiCN Black Coated (4.2" VG-10) C07BKP

Why oh why VG-10? They brought back G10 scales, let's have it in PD#1 or K390...

I don’t think those are G10 scales. They’re some black coated stainless steel. I got excited when I ...

1 - My summertime work knife, in my pocket most anytime I’m wearing a belt (could be subbed out by the SE version if I’ve got a fixed blade too.)

2 - This is for off days.

3 - This goes with me on any trips to the “yard.” (Mowing, dog walks in the woods, etc) IWB in gym shorts and ...

Re: Salt crusted Salts. Loving it.

This thread has had me thinking about my salts. I realized not long after reading this, that of the dozens of Spydies I’ve sold off in downsizing my overall knife collection, few if any have been salts. When I began questioning that further I realized they are the ones I throw here and there just in ...

Re: Spyderco Sharpener Necklace

I’m in! I got one of the fire steel and scraper sets and while I like the idea, I don’t ever where it. Instead I made it part of a hat band. A single piece of sharpener material with no piercing corners might see some time around my neck.

Re: Magnacut Rock Salt???

The original came out while I was still in college, but it was a game changer in my love of knives. I already had a couple Spydercos, but the use of H1 and the combination of form and function lit up the aspiring Industrial Designer in me. I’ve now acquired a VG-10 model, but I’d be in for two of ...

Re: Which Spyderco models should be discontinued to make room for newer models/variations?

😈 Para2, Para3 and Shaman: with the Millie2, Sage5 and Bodacious filling those rolls so much better 😜, let’s free up some Golden production capacity.

Note: I don’t even own a Bodacious yet, but it looks like a Shaman killer to me and I fully intend to try it and then probably sell my Shamans.

Not any of the Spydercos I’ve sold, but a couple of fixed blades from CPK and one is regrettable enough that I WILL replace it…one day.

Re: Reveal 18 - Live!

I found my first Bodacious!

I was pumped about the blacked out Police until I realized the body of the knife is s/s.

The Cobol looks neat. It’s the second or third non locking blade that has caught my eye in the last couple reveals.

Re: Sage 5 SPY27 FRN and G-10 internals identical?

How important is the internal stop pin?? I just swapped a MC LW into some Micarta and had to leave the stop pin out. The knife still seems to function properly. I’m sure I could find a dremel tip of the right size and make a little recess for it if I need to.
You can see the pin sitting on the right ...

Re: Last Minute Decision

I used to carry a full size multi, but began to realize I never used it in the woods. I switched to a Gerber Dime, and though it’s not as good as it could be, it does have pliers, scissors and tweezers. The most complex repair might be a zipper or buckle and the dime is enough to get me fixed and ...

Re: Sage 6, WHO'S EXCITED

The Sage5s are my only Sage blades, but they immediately booted the Para3 out of heavy rotation. Once the Sage6 drops, in almost any other steel, I’m sure it will jump to the top. S30V is meh at best and S90V would be okay except I don’t want to pay the CF tax. Oddly enough, one of the only knives I ...

Anyone put a Lynch clip on one yet? Trying to decide on short or long version, which one lands closest to where the factory clip does?

I did but it made the knife sit so deep that it bottomed out in my pocket (back pocket) before the clip got seated. I also tried a milled clip but they are the ...
