Re: Have you owned a Spyderco lockback with zero play?

I haven’t read through all this yet, but I’ve got a K390 Delica and an LC200N Pac Salt in my pockets right now and neither has any play that I can feel. That’s opening them and pushing up and down on the blade with my left hand and as much force as feels safe in my pinch grip.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

A few... Manix2 Sprint Carbon Fiber w/S90V clad in 154 Manix2 Sprint G10 w/REX45 (backup) Police4 G10 w/K390 (I’ve been carrying the Delica since I got it and can’t tell the edge has dulled in the least, daddy likey) Unless a Tatanka pops up, I think I’m in a holding pattern until the Chief sprints ...

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

If we’re moving on :(
What are the chances of a sprint run South Fork? Cruwear, 4V, K390 or REX45 perhaps...Orange G10 maybe??

A couple little guys, my first standard VG10 Dragonfly with Putnam G10 scales and the older gray FRN Delica in Cruwear.

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

I’ve gone back and forth on this iteration of the proficient and I just can’t bring myself to drop the coin for S90V and carbon fiber on a beefy fixed blade. I could probably swallow the S90V, though I’d prefer something tougher with a willingness to sacrifice corrosion resistance or edge retention,...

Re: Just for fun. What configuration?

So many ideas, but for a fixed blade how about a South Fork K390 or REX45 maybe in the 2-2.5mm range and lose the choil while we’re at it...any micarta will do as long as it’s earth tones or orange G10.

I prefer the steels offered in burnt orange, but the color not so much. For reference, I’m and Auburn Man living in Vols country :)

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

Y’all please buy them all up. S90V and Carbon Fiber don’t sound all that appealing to me in this package, but when Sal says it’s a great knife I have a hard time keeping my wallet closed. Don’t need, don’t need, don’t need...I’ll be over here in the corner convincing myself :)

Re: Legit vendor?

I did all of the above before coming here :) Then I called them. I believe I talked to the owner. He said to email bc his website inventory has been acting up. I emailed and he verified...no stock. Wahwahhh :( it was a P4 G10 and showed 30 in stock. I think Julia is right though, brick and mortar sp...

Re: Large fixed blade- s35vn vs 3v

For me a 6” FB is a tweener and not a size I ever actually reach for, but for your described uses I vote 3V all day. I’ve got a 10” FB in 3V and I can tell you it’s my favorite “large” FB for any kind of wood/fire prep and really replaces my hatchets and small axes most of the time. Preferably this ...

Legit vendor?

Found something I like at a place called universalSpartan.com...anybody do any business with them? They appear to be in Kentucky but I couldn’t find much in the way of reviews (pos or neg.)

I’ve got nothing special in mind, but the delayed Chief sprints and Mule Team blades would be welcome. The Police LW K390 would be cool too.

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

I didn’t realize the Crucarta version was an attempt to get the price lower than the S90V model. I thought it was just a better steal for a bushcraft type blade. I expected to and was ready to spend similar funds, any cheaper would’ve been icing on the micarta. ;)

Pac Salt 2 LC200 SE on the way from SFO.
Same here...and a K390 Delica for good measure. First K390! I may pair these two up for the next couple weeks at work.
