Paramilitary 2 SE
These are super rare. I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild.
Does anyone here have a PM2 SE? If so, what do you think about it?
Why are they so rare?

I prefer PE most of the time, but it is nice to have an SE PM2 as an option. I had no problem finding one a couple of years ago, but they are less popular and not as widely in stock.
You can grab one now at National Knives, and if logged in to an account the price is great:

Maybe rare is not the right word. I know they're available for purchase and not hard to find at retailers. I just don't think many people buy them.CDEP wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 12:39 amI prefer PE most of the time, but it is nice to have an SE PM2 as an option. Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
When I could not find a Bodacious in SE, I grabbed a Military 2 in SE late last year. I am a big fan. For the last several months it has been my most carried Spyderco. I would imagine every model in the Military lineup is a great performer in SE.

Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
I seriously considered getting one, because I know they won't be available forever, but the Military 2 is such a better knife for me, I've just lost all interest in owning Para 2's.

Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
I've considered getting one but, while I'm a fan of the original Paramilitary and the PM3 LW, I don't much like the PM2. And (like David, above), now that the Military 2 is available in SE, I have even less reason to buy an SE PM2.

They are rare in a sense that for the first 8 or so years the PM2 only came in PE.

Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
Honest question: have they ever been made? The photo here looks obviously photoshopped to me; the serrations pasted somewhat messily on the blade?

I have one. Bought it from National Knives. S45VN, Awesome knife.

Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
I bought a factory 2nd PM2 s45vn SE for my dad to have as a work beater. Mostly to satisfy my own curiosity on how well s45vn and teeth pair up from a durability stand point. Last 9 months or so it's held up remarkably well. Really expected to see some chipped off teeth by now but it's been taking the abuse in stride.
I'll also echo the sentiment that the pm2 is the odd one out for me. I'd much rather carry a Para 3 and if I need more the Military 2 is the jump up to a bigger blade. Was really surprised that the Military 2 pulled an Endura in my pocket where I thought there's no way I'm carrying a knife this big and it feels so un-intrusive in my pocket.

Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
Could you post a pic of the serrations?
Wonder if perhaps they are of the more "aggressive", "snaggier" kind like just from what I can see it was more usual in the past (as opposed to the "mellower" type that seems to take over a bit more these days (?) )?
If so, that "aggressive" type might just make the SE version less likable for the average user... ?
In any case I feel like G10 Golden models perhaps are generally less "associated" with SE in peoples minds as let´s say FRN (Seki) ones?
Or also NON Salt models less associated with SE than Salts?
Just guessing though.
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
The example I bought falls somewhere in between but leaning slightly more towards aggressive like most of the golden models seem to. Not as pointy and aggressive as say a Dfly, but definitely not as mellow as a Caribbean/Endela/Temp 3 LW. If I end up at my parents before anyone's posted a pic of theirs I'll try and get some shots of it
Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
No idea how to link a pic here, but the serration pattern is identical to my Military 2 SE.
Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
These are Spyderco ninja knives, they are elusive to the point that they are only for the very aggressive cutters in this crowd!
Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
There's a local gun store to me that always has two of them in stock, they're $50 overpriced and they can't get rid of them, one of the counter guys said the knife buyer there bought the serrated versions by mistake. They're both in S45VN and the serrations are absolutely beautiful! They're both really nice knives!
I offered to buy both of them just to get them out of their way but they don't want to play ball.....
He said 10% off of their $249.00 price, no thanks!

Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
I'm down to one now, a Green Knifeworks 204P exclusive, that's a great one to keep around.

No, I was replying to Eric about his comment about losing interest in the PM2, saying that’s my only one left.

Re: Paramilitary 2 SE
These are actually on sale at the moment at BladHQ for $165, and the pictures don't even have weird photoshopped serrations! A purposeful-looking rig, to be sure:
