I picked up a well-used, G-2 FRN ProGrip at a swap meet awhile back and have been carrying it for the past month. I've had Delicas and Enduras since the beginning, but for some reason never acquired a ProGrip when it was in production. My mistake, what a great little knife. Lightweight, sturdy, and punches way above its weight for heavy duty tasks. I really think those first generation FRN, integral clip designs were magic in terms of aesthetics, ergonomics, and utility. They just have this elegant, minimalist vibe. Yes, multi-position, metal clips are better, steels have improved dramatically, and screw construction is superior for maintenance and mods, but those early FRN models were/are darn good. If the molds were serviceable, I think it would be cool to have a heritage sprint run series (maybe in a special color) for the ProGrip and other selected Spydie FRN classics. Any interest or am I just being nostalgic?

FRN ProGrip Sprint Interest?
Re: FRN ProGrip Sprint Interest?
Interest or not, first thing to find out is if the molds still exist and are viable anymore. Hopefully someone at Spyderco will chime in.

Fifty bucks says the molds are long gone.

I thought Spyderco moved away from plastic clips because they weren’t durable enough.
There’s enough of these floating around on eBay, I don’t see why a sprint run would be needed.
