Hi BBB,
Fingers crossed for 2025. I’m Looking forward to this model.
I really appreciate what you and Spyderco have done with this steel. Thanks for bringing it to us.
Also, when is your own Spyderco collaboration coming out?

Yeah, definitely some killer models to look forward to in the 15V. The Golden made models are my favorites.
Brilliant designs.

Thank you very much, and thank you to Spyderco.
I don't think we could have been any luckier with the timing of everything.
I was shocked by the Crucible Industries shut down.
There are no analogs to CPM 15V, it's an obstinate material to make and it was quite special in its design.
Spyderco basically saved CPM 15V from being lost into obscurity which would have been a real shame because the performance we were able to achieve I found very impressive.
I can't think of any production knives with this amount of carbide volume that I would run a flat 13° per side edge on and get this amount of edge stability with.
I'm not sure, Eric told me a rough estimated date but we'll see as things get closer.

Slightly off topic but Eric at one point said all Golden models would see 15v. Any idea if that includes the Manix 2 XL?Deadboxhero wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 4:11 amYeah, definitely some killer models to look forward to in the 15V. The Golden made models are my favorites.

Spyderco and yourself have done an amazing job of pulling 15v out of obscurity and into people’s hands.
It is certainly a steel you now see frequently at the top of everyone’s wish list to appear on their favourite models.
Logistics aside, I think it’s a steel which would shine brightly on some of the more low geometry / performance orientated Taichung models too.
I don’t mean to pry too much, but will your collaboration feature a 13degree (or close to) per side edge?

I’d so I might give 15V a try !WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 8:00 amSlightly off topic but Eric at one point said all Golden models would see 15v. A Manix 2 XL is on my short list, a good/interesting steel drops I might have to jump.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 12:31 pmI’d so I might give 15V a try !WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 8:00 amSlightly off topic but Eric at one point said all Golden models would see 15v. A Manix XL in 15v would probably cost me an arm and a leg here in Europe but i would gladly pay it to get my Manix 2 15v a big brother…Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 12:31 pmI’d so I might give 15V a try !WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 8:00 amSlightly off topic but Eric at one point said all Golden models would see 15v. The Native 5 LW in 15V is the one Spyderco I am going to buy in 2025. 15V is amazing!

Generally, new knives drop when they are ready, with no official release date. They come when they come.

Based off Midway, late August or early September. But keep in mind items do get backed up and delayed.

Saw this on a guys YouTube post. Have no idea if it’s true but maybe the native 5 will be right behind the manix for a release

I know this store, they're pretty new but have been good so far. They source direct from Spyderco and are in both the Premier and collector's club programs so they get notified of new releases as soon as Spyderco ships any out. They just got a new social media person so these kinds of posts should be more frequent going forward too. Check em out!RugerNurse wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 3:10 am

Re: Native 5 lw in 15v?
Its been a difficult decision but I figure I may as well cancel my order for this and get a Native 5 Salt instead:
1. My 15v Native has on order since February with an April delivery date, yet still nothing confirmed in sight.
2. The weather here and the work I do means the knife is either going to be either be in near constant saturation by the rain, or more currently, perspiration. Neither of which are conducive to a rust-free 15v blade, or anything without a good degree of corrosion resistance.
3. I know I like Magnacut. Been using it on my UKPK Salt for the last year or so and found it to be brilliant stuff; Low maintence, high edge retention and easy to strop back to razor sharp edge with diamond emulsion. The edge retention isn’t extreme like 15v but good enough for me.
I think if I did buy a 15v Native, it’d just sit in its box just like my 15v PM2 does.

This is a good point. Ahh! The irony of having a great steel like 15V for ultra high edge retention, but never wanting to use it to cut anything due to its inevitable rarity and collectability!
