I’m visiting Nola with the family over the holidays from the U.K.
Are there any Spyderco retailers I should know about - or any other tips for that matter!
Thanks in advance!
Chris

KnifeWorks is in Columbia. 4 hours away by car…
As far as other tips, I prefer Cafe Du Monde over Cafe Beignet.

The aquarium is stellar. French Quarter is worth a shot but wouldn’t take small kids and definitely stay on main streets. Lastly, NOLA has some really bad areas so do be very mindful where you are- like don’t let it ruin your trip mindful but also you probably shouldn’t walk in any non tourist area late.

I go to New Orleans typically once a month to visit friends and my wife and I do Mardi Gras every year. Treat NOLA like you would any major city, common sense street smarts go a long way, and some of the most fun you can have is outside the quarter away from some of the more cheesy tourist stuff.
I don't know of any Spyderco dealers in the city itself, but check out https://couteliernola.com/. High end kitchen cutlery with lots of custom pieces and a small case of Opinels and Mcusta pocket knives.
There's a knife shop just outside the city in Metairie, but I've never been: https://southshorekniveswatchesclocks.com/
When I lived in Baton Rouge, which is about an hour or so away depending on traffic, I picked my knives up from Jim's Firearms. Great selection of Spyderco, Benchmade, Protech, and Microtech knives. They also had a CRK display last time I was there, but everything had sold out. The staff is always really friendly as well.

Re: Any New Orleans retailers?
NOLA was a regular, and one of my favorite work destinations back in the day.
I wasn't into knives back then, unfortunately. Travelling regularly to the US would have been much more useful these days :)
In my experience the place was very vibrant, with an amazing atmosphere (still the locals claimed it was hardly comparable to the pre Katrina days) and I never felt unsafe there. But this was 10-15 years ago and things might have changed. Also at the time I was a young, experienced traveller without a family to worry about.
Not sure how it works out as a family destination, but I sure hope you all enjoy your time and that NOLA has kept its vibe

You can use the dealer locator. There is one in Gretna, which I think is close to NOLA, but I am not sure.

Southshore is pretty nice but I haven't been in years. Used to have alpine clocks but they shut down. You might be able to go to some of the gun stores and they could have some spyderco knives. Across lake ponchartrian they have another clock store. But it's a drive from NOLA. NorthShore clocks. That also used to be part of alpine clocks too. I used to live much closer but I don't frequent the area as much.
