Future PE Atlantic Salts?

#1

Post by Kissaki »

I know plain edge sheepsfoots have never been big sellers for Spyderco, but was wondering with the discontinuation of the LC200N PE Atlantic Salts, if there are any plans to bring the model back in another steel. I have a specific need that requires a FRN knife sporting a blunt tip (not wharnie style) with no serrations in either the Atlantic or Saver size. Not keen on grinding off serrations and/or tips to make it happen, so if a factory PE sheepsfoot is unlikely in the semi-near future, will start looking on the secondary market. Thanks for the crystal ball gazing, Sal and crew!

It would be nice to see more made.

Off topic: Others have suggested and I would support other blade shapes in the Atlantic Salt handle. A Stretch type drop point or thin leaf blade?

I’m still hoping for a sheepsfoot PE backlock FRN Caribbean. There have been rumors! 🙂

I use a PE Atlantic Salt at work every day and I ordered 4 spares when they were discontinued. I think a few retailers still have them in stock - I distinctly remember thinking about ordering a couple more recently and deciding that four spares were enough.

Looks like Cutlery Shoppe still has a few left. Maybe snag a couple before they're gone gone.

I too want a Stretch Salt. Please, Spyderco.
