OT watches

Post by J Smith »

Its been a while,so what are you wearing.

I wear a gun metal Calvery Swiss Army.I love this watch and I have 2.One for every day and one for week end-backup.I started looking for a new band,I ordered one from Swiss Army but they changed them and I am allergic to the dye in the leather of the new one(very few leather bands I can wear).

Any way in the process of looking for a band I ended up tradeing for 2 more watches.First one is a Luminox Seal ll,I had big trouble from a Luminox world traveler, hope this one doesn't give any trouble.Luminox warrenty sux.

The 2nd is a wenger Field Watch I think I will like it.I am going to replace the band on it with a Kevlar band.

I really want a Omega diver but I will never be able to get one.

Heres a pic of the Wegner

Jeff-

I wear a Timex Expedition black face with a back lite and alarm feature. It does take a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

I to like those wenger watches-the field watch both in white and black dial. And they can be had for a good price too.

For the past several years I have alternated between a Seiko Kinetic Sports model and a Citizen Sports model. They are almost identical. This past week I got an old Wakmann-Brietling Chrono out to wear. I bought it in the 70's and it still keeps good time. Don't get me started on American RR watches.

Still wearing the same bulletproof chronograph I have been for the past two years, a Russian Poljot "Aviator," modeled after the Fortis "Flieger" models.

I added a stainless bracelet for it that I bought from a gentleman in Moscow over the net. It's amazing how the internet is shrinking the world.

Samo opened me my eyes a couple of months ago about the G-Shock Casio watches and Rorschach gave good and solid advice about his experiences with them. I now own two. One with the Wave Ceptor technology ( atomic time signal receiption) and one just like Rorschach's on the picture combining the Wave Ceptor and the Tough Solar techniques! These watches are very good and with the sum of their features are State of the Art in movementless timepieces. Just MHO

I have the G-Shock GW-300 it is also an atomic/solar timepiece. Has a little different face style than Rorschach's, but I also picked up one after the thread here after I gave my previous one to my son for his Yosemite trip.
Chuck, You asked where Rorschach got his, I found mine at Walmart ~$75. US

Hi chuck:
The model I have is from Japan, I got mine at Yodobashi Camera in Tokyo. They sell an export version (MTG-900DA-8V) in silver (not black) on some websites like dynadirect.com. It was fairly pricey with the yen exchange rate, but it's my favorite.

Boy!!

This is a tough crowd in which to make this admission, but I haven't worn a watch in 25 years, except when I travel. I have an old Swiss Army, with a brown leather band, which I would now be embarrassed to send a pic of. It keeps time when I'm out of town. I just don't see the need to carry time very often.

I always have one of my (5) Casio G-Shocks, (or my Casio Protrek) strapped to my wrist.
