Calypso Jr. Question

#1

Post by dpsmith »

Why was the FRN and Micarta Calypso Jr's flat ground and the SS hollow ground? Was it because of the different steel used. Have had a FRN PE Calypso Jr. for a while and is one of my favorite knives. I recently picked up a SS PE Calypso Jr. and wonder why it was not flat ground.

Hello,

We ordered SS Calypso Jr.s hollow-ground to offer some variety. Although flat-grinds are popular we still have a large customer base that likes/prefers hollow-ground blades. Variety is the spice......

A limited run of gray FRN Calypso Jr.s are due in before the end of the year (late November-early December). I believe they will be flat-ground but will double check for "y'all".

The SS jr is one of my favorite knives, just the right size and heft that I like. I am thinking about a plain edge micarta that I saw, It needs a little work but I have not seen to many of them so that one might have to do.
Enjoy your new knife it's a great piece and kind of hard to find.

Is there any other jr other then plain edge micarta that I am missing

THANKS
