Forget what i said the first time i was set off track by taz here reply like our friend below me pointed out i was indeed thinking off the other lockback model that was also discontinued.

The Manix 2 is indeed the new version of the old Mini Manix with the cbbl lock. ( very good lock at its own )
Less blade thickness and many many variations in wonderfull steels!

Bladeshape is that off the Manix 2 in the gp2 the original was wider.
Not sure about this but the probability is great that the bladestock on the new version is thinner.
And the biggest set back the new version has no liners.

The C101GP2 is the g10 plain edge version of the manix 2 and unless something has changed recently, it still has full liners. The bladestock is 3.2mm on the G2 vs 4mm on the original C101GP and the G2 has a ball bearing lock instead of the original's back lock. It has sold well and has many variants.

I think Apollo is thinking of the C101MBG2 which was the short lived Manix 2 mid back lock. It retained the back lock and 4mm blade stock of the original C101GP, but was linerless but with thicker g10 making for a thicker handle. It was discontinued fairly rapidly, so I'd imagine sales weren't brisk. Why it didn't sell is pure speculation, but I think the combination of the higher price and lack of liners compared to the C101GP2 were the biggest issues.
