Cruwear PM2 Lanyard Tube size

#1

Post by FuzzForce »

Does the full liner / Cruwear PM2 use the same lanyard tube as the standard PM2?

Thanks!

Haven't taken apart my Cru-Wear PM2 to confirm, but they do look the same size based on the old eyeball test.

I have no personal experience with that model. However, I'd be dumbfounded if the lanyard tube wasn't the same part as any other Para Military 2. It just wouldn't make any sense to change that part.

Thanks for the assistance. I found a really cheap aftermarket tube on Ebay and it appears to be the same dimensions, for anyone that's curious.

I do believe that the factory lanyard tubes are a thin metal and bent (/widened, I don't know the correct term) to hold tight to the liner. I'm not sure how great the tolerances of the holes are, but I think a machined lanyard hole like that is likely to move once you put it in there.

It probably won't move enough for 99% of people to notice or for it to make an actual difference to anyone, but we have some nit-picky type people in the knife world. Also, it might seem difficult to get the "old one" out of there.

Yeah machined lanyard tubes can move. Some of them are a tight fit, and this added to the 2 body screws just up from the position of the lanyard is often enough to block any movement.
