Spartan Blades Anyone?
How many do you have?
Does anyone have a complete collection of Spartan Blades Fixed Knives?
How do you like them?
They seem pretty nice in S45VN although I only have the Enyo and Horkos in S35VN, which I bought years ago. I think in 2022 I'll collect everything in size ranging from the Phrike to the Difensa:
Phrike, 4.25" S45VN
Harsey TT Tactical Trout, 4.5" S45VN
Ares, 5 3/8” S45VN
Ronin Shinto, 5 5/8", S45VN
Ronin Shinto Trainer
Harsey Dagger, 6” S45VN
Harsey Difensa, 6 1/4" S45VN

Spartan knives are great.
The Difense is really nice as well as the TT
They are so much like Chris Reeve knives imo
Even the folders. I do believe that's where Spartan learned the trade if not mistaken.
Hope this helps.

I have 2 harsey folders both s45vn. They are very beefy robust knives. A cross between a Hinderer and CRK. Just as expensive too!....

I like the Harsey Folders but don't have any. I'd be buying the ones closer to a 4 inch blade.
I like Hinderer folders too and have at least 3 or 4 of them. They are built like tanks and have great steels.

I've been on the lookout for a Harsey for years but they always seem to be out of stock when I've got $. They go fast on the secondary too!

Have to save up $1,000 and sit on it.

Re: Spartan Blades Anyone?
I have a Spartan Astor, which is part of their less expensive, made in Taiwan line.
The CTS-XHP takes a nice sharp edge, and lockup is solid on my sample. My only gripe is the noticeable up and down movement of the blade in the closed position. Returning it for warranty isn't an option as I don't live in the US. The knife is perfectly usable in any case.
If I were to get a Harsey, I would choose the smaller 3.25 model which fits my hand better. I'm not that eager to get one though, as the design doesn't really stand out from the other Ti framelocks that I have.

Re: Spartan Blades Anyone?
I love everything that Bill Harsey touches. The Spartan Harsey fixed blades look very, very nice - I just don’t have a lot of use for a spec ops fixed blade. The price on the folders is pretty good, too.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Re: Spartan Blades Anyone?
I have the two budget models, the Talos (smaller, Harsey design) and Astor (larger, Les George design). They are pretty solid knives overall.. generally good fit & finish, good steel, even grinds, good lock-up, nice stonewash finish, etc. My Talos has a pretty mushy detent though, and I think this model is in desperate need of a detent ball ramp. My Astor has the detent lash Mikey mentions, though maybe not to the same extent.. i have to go out of my way to notice it, but it's there.. the detent is reasonably crisp otherwise. Both knives are really quite good from a design/ergonomics standpoint, especially the Astor, imo.
I was able to get the Talos & Astor from Knifeworks for about $80 and $90 respectively.. at those prices, I'm able to forgive the shortcomings. I would be much, MUCH, more critical if i had paid full price ($115 & $135) for these.. I'd only recommend these if you can get a deal on them or if you really just love the designs..

I'd like to add a US made Spartan to my collection one day.. I really like the the SHF 3.25 Stonewash.

Went back to wearing my S35VN Enyo neck knife. The tiny Cold Steel push dagger that I have may be a problem for me with both edges sharpened. Oh boy.....

NOTE!
Before donning a neck knife, make sure the knife can be drawn from the sheath. I had not touched this neck knife for around 9 months and it was for all intents and purposes expoxied in the sheath. It took me 15+ minutes to get the knife out of the sheath, and if I really needed it, I'd have been in trouble..

New Knife. Excellent looking but too large to carry here except during Winter.

I have 14 Spartan Harsey Folders the special edition ones that they release four different variations each year.
I have personally used and edc two of my Harsey Folders, and I can tell you from experiences that they're built like a tank! They're somewhat similar to the CRK Sebenza 31 because before they started up, they asked Chris Reeve for advice and inputs for their folders.

I want to get a Harsey folder in 2022(the Chinese Dragon model, and possibly the Plague Dr), and a few Harsey fixed blades. I'm thinking of a Phrike or a Harsey TT for EDC. I have other knives that are just right size wise, but they are daggers. I'm looking for something that is 4 to 4.5 inch blade and has a profile that is almost like a spike.
If the Spyderco Fish Hunter(4.2 inch blade) was MagnaCut with a black or dark handle, I'd buy 2.
