Probably a combination of heel and tip. Really depends on the task. Both are super critical design details for me so I guess those are areas I use the most.

The tip. At least, that is the part of the edge that dulls the quickest. So it could be that I have really bad luck and all my knives have bad steel towards the tip.

The sharp part.

Someone had to. I feel like I missed a great opportunity.

I use the top edge, it cuts poorly but the factory edge lasts forever!
Heel & middle for me, tip only if I need to pierce. I'm a poor sharpener of tips so I try to not over use them.

For me, it is design and task dependent...
So it goes.

The tip or the first 1/3 of the blade gets used most on my knives for sure.

Re: Which part of the edge do you use the most?
It really depends on what I'm doing with it, and/or how I'm using it; e.g. feather sticking; filleting fish or dressing/butchering game, cutting saplings, branches, vines; cutting up cardboard boxes of all shapes, sizes, thicknesses, food prep on the cutting board at home, etc... Also, the design of the knife/blade comes in to play too...

Re: Which part of the edge do you use the most?
The forward third just back from the tip.
Re: Which part of the edge do you use the most?
I try to utilize the entire edge, depending on what I'm doing. The tip is important when you need something pointy, so I reserve that for delicate work. If I'm hogging through a branch or something else that takes a lot of pressure, I'll stay toward the heel. For something like a tomato, I might stay more toward the mid-section or belly. For something delicate, I'll use the point.
In my head, this can prolong the usefulness of the blade before it needs to be resharpened. This obsession stems from when I was a little kid, playing in the shop and using the bench grinder. I recall being chastised for grinding in one spot, and not using the stone evenly. Uneven usage requires more frequent dressing, and is waste of the stone. It made sense, and the lesson not one stuck, but it carried over into other tools.

Re: Which part of the edge do you use the most?
I would say I unconsciously use the whole blade for most cuts.
Hard cuts = heel to tip
Delicate cuts = tip to heel
Long cuts = belly to tip
Cutting through delicate things = just the tip

Folder & EDC = tip.
Fixed blades, fire prep = heel.

....all of it?
Even though there's no tape residue on the tip, I use the tip a lot too.

On a plane surface : tip
With no backing (cord, etc) : more towards the heel, or sweeping cut heel to tip.

In the collection : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.
