Kudos to Spyderco Warranty/Repair

[Lost Jaguar]

I just received my fluted titanium Military back from Spyderco W/R. I first found this knife in a pawn shop. The lock-up was perfect and there was no damage to the titanium parts. However, the blade was a disaster! Dull as a butter knife, tip rounded, and the flats of the blade were badly scratched. I bought it nevertheless, as this is a Military variation that I love and they are rare birds (Byrds? Nahhh.) indeed.

I tried my very darndest to restore the blade's edge and tip and I got to a passable result. But the edge just didn't match that exquisite factory-fresh sharpness. So, I mailed it to Golden with a hand-written note expressing my admiration for all Spyderco products and describing my long history of owning Spydies (30+ years, with dozens coming and going, depending if the wolf was at the door or Santa was down the chimney). I had never utilized Spyderco's W/R service before.

The knife is now in near-new condition, although its blade is a fraction of an inch shorter. No matter, its a beast anyway. The edge is a dream, slicing copy paper with an unassisted glide. The point is needle-sharp, and the flats are polished with no trace of scratches.

I would encourage anyone who has a Spyderco knife that has lost its factory edge and no effort on your part will restore it, send it off to Golden with the appropriate fee and wait for that beauty to return.
