Military S30V eccentric pivot?

#1

Post by Simple Man »

Was the eccentric pivot done away with on the new S30V Millies with a more agressive linerlock ramp in it's place? Comments in the Tech Junkies forum make me ask.

According to Eric Glesser at Blade 2003, the reason for not having the eccentric pivot is because Spyderco's tolerances are tighter (everything fits together better). The eccentric pivot allowed for slop or play to be taken out of the knives and now it is not necessary. That is the information as I was told.

Yes, we have done away with the eccentric pivot on the Military model.

New liner material and closer tolerances made it possible. Strongest ever.

Sorry J. Some things we have to keep to ourselves. I can tell you it's thicker and resists wears much better.
