I was thinking about Blackie Collins, and some of the tremendously wonderful knives and designs he made, everything from pioneering knife mechanisms and handle and blade materials and shapes, to Toters jeans and countless other things.

Spyderco and Blackie had a great design relationship and I have some of his designs. I would welcome your memories and thoughts about his knives and things. He founded Blade Magazine.

One of my favorite designs of his is the Bolt Action and the Spyderco Sage comes out of this.

I love the sage 3. I have it in both variants (blue g-10 and CF). I'd love to see it in an upgraded steel.

Blackie was true pioneer. I have several of his designs by Gerber and Meyerco.
It was always interesting to see what new mechanism or material he had come up with.

Yes great point, Tom. Are you looking forward to the Light Weight version that is supposedly going to be released?
