Toughness/Strength of kiwi

#1

Post by keen »

Hi to all,

I'm considering buying a kiwi for EDC in a university environment--i.e., lots of sheeple. Frequently, I must open cardboard mailers that hold a book or two. Would a kiwi hold up well for this kind of use/abuse? I also have a MeerKat, but would prefer the slightly more slender profile of the kiwi.

Thanks in advance for any responses, and definitely thanks for such an informative and entertaining forum!

I have one and have used it in an office environment for similar tasks. Very sheeplr-friendly. The combination VG-10 steel and flat grind will laugh at any box you throw its way. I have even broken down large shipping boxes with my Kiwi (normally would recommend a larger blade, but it was the only one I had at the time) and I didn't even need to touch it up. It's very sturdy and high performance despite the small size. You'll also love the wharncliff blade shape, very useful in an office environment.

A very tough littl'un. I have been carrying mine EDC since Christmas. Only disappointment is that it does not have a pocket clip so I have it riding in a suede pouch RF pocket. Very sheeple frindly and great handle with the double choil.Very comfortable to use. My suggestion-BUY IT NOW!!!
