I really really like that SS Kiwi. Anybody know if that is a for-certain production item??

I bet the Ascent rocks as a S&R knife, but I think I will stick to my PE Rescues.

Ted - very cool pics. Thanks for the post...

Now, where the heck is my wallet? I just have to have one of the new Assists.

I think I'll give the SS Kiwi a pass. SS simply doesn't have the character bone does to me.

I will have to agree with sword and Shield.
I handled a Kiwi at last years Blade show and liked it, despite the price; This one, however does not "speak" to me, as I prefer my knives to.

Knife Knut on a shoestring budget. <P>RKBA

I am sorry but to me the SS Kiwi looks cheap.

I learn something new everyday, even though I don't want to. Jeff

the SS Kiwi has no warmth to it... looks cheap too. Just my opinion.

I dig the SS Kiwi,I'd actually buy one. I don't want a current model cause I don't want to pay the premium for bone inlays that I'd have to be careful with.

My fav quote from the report, under the Tool Pen review in the gear section:"The Plus version incorporates a small folding knife blade/drill inside the pocket clip. We’re not sure how practical that will be, it’s not much of a blade, and since it is unlikely anyone reading this Web site would be without at least a couple blades on them, unless illegal wherever they are, in which case this likely would be as well, it’s really superfluous." He really knows his audience. ;-)

Thanks for the pics. I think the SS Kiwi is nice. (Not enough to want one, but that's also my oppinion for the regular model with bone handles).
The Assist IMO is an example of function first. The whistle in the handles is an interesting feature.

I don't know about that SS Kiwi. I see it engraved, and it looks alot better. I think it would make a nice little "suit" knife. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Thanks for the pics Ted.

Carlos also linked the pics at BF.
The thread is getting quite funny about the 'beauty' of the Assist... <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
