$1,000 or more per year?

#1

Post by interloper »

Who has a Spydie habit of more than $1,000 per year. I am going to place an order for over $500 and I can see it really getting out of hand this year. Is it just me or are their others?

You definitely are not alone - but who says $1000 per year is out of hand

Fortunately my wife doesn't think so. She supports my knife habit more than I do. Nothing says love like a new Spyderco.

I wish I could...

But in a few years when I finished my study, I'll probably have too much money to spent.

I've done about $1K in the past year. And I could stand to scale it WAY back

Not necessarily Spydies but I have almost topped 2000$ cdn. in one year. I was single and had just started full time work, I owned a Jeep(still do/same one) and a fairly large collection of blades(still do)I don't drink or smoke or have any other hobbies so I could justify spending that money/
Now I am getting married so my hobby has taken a back seat to more important things.

I'll be happy if I could do a hundred bucks in three months. the currency here is so small, I can hardly think of buying knives..

Just gave my taxes a look-over. I'll be getting back just over 100, unless I can find a couple loopholes.

Loopholes are good things.

I don't believe I've ever had a grand sitting around for knives. If I did, Glasshartt would be taking an extra week's vacation this year, Cabela's would show record profits... Sigh...

If I were to spend $1000 or more on ANYTHING in a year, my dear wife would have my head on a platter.

I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but at 1 point I spent 1200 in 30 days for my addiction for s and now those GASP darm new B/M AXIS locks.
Don't get me wrong I'm to the core but working on so many of those kewl B/MS has infected me twice.
MY problem is once I handle a knife I GET attached to it, just like that afore mentioned Shabaria I thought I wouldn't like since my pal Alex already has 1 I removed it from the trade block .
Now Carlos has a model I thought I'd never find a use for BUTTTTTTT a Matriarch for a measly 50.00 bucks. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP no wait, don,t I'll take it Carlos LOL. Ron

I spend $1,000/year on the WIFE'S knives!! My own budget is classified and distributed under 3600 monies (Test and Development Programs) by the OMB. I know how Ron feels spending $1200 in 30 days though. Reminds me about what they say about the difference between men and boys is.
