Spyderco Q ball ???

#1

Post by JT »

On the cataloque page 86, There's this sweeeet looking Q Ball.
Now, Sal or anyone, can we get all the info about it, who designed it, and when can we have it, please? :D

Looks like a wharnie third-cousin of the Dodo to me. Handle looks very ergonomic, the bbl lock, and a wharnie with VG-10, what's there not to love ?

What do you guys and gals think. A hidden gem imho.

You can see Eric's logo on the Q's blade in the photo in the catalogue.

It is a Wharndodo for sure. Handle looks a bit smaller . this is a must have for me. Possibly "if I only get one" status.

I like it and my pre-order is in.
It is a bit pricy. But have you seen what a dodo sells for these days?
As others have said, the warncliffe delica is a much better deal. But I don't always but the best deal.

This is an interesting little knife!

I have my reservations about the ease of use of the ball bearing lock though. I had a Dodo for a while, and liked the look and simplicity of the exposed ball bearing. I tried hard to love the lock, but it was just plain difficult to operate consistently. :( It had a stiff spring and was difficult to get a grip on. The cage on the Manix really improves the usability.

I really hope this version is easier to operate than the Dodo.
