Spyderco swag?!
First and foremost I want to buy a Spyderco coffee mug! A black ceramic mug with a red bug logo sure would be sweet. Of course I'd like all the other stuff too, shirts, hoodies, a tumbler, you name it, I'll buy it.
Any chance this could happen? Anyone else interested?
Hats! I'd like a hat too lol.

Re: Spyderco swag?!
I often wondered why this hasn't happened a long time ago.....I would love a black long sleeve Spydie shirt...some very, very cool shirts could be made!
Not to mention hats, sweat shirts, jackets - both light and heavyweight.
There is just no way it couldnt be a win-win situation for Spyderco imo.
Great advertisement at the very least imo too.

This comes up from time to time and I keep wondering why it isn't being done. I understand that Sal and Co. are busy making us great knives but this seems like something that wouldn't be too much of a distraction and could bring in some extra revenue. :spyder:

Re: Spyderco swag?!
I'd sooner have a travel mug than a ceramic mug. And a hat. A keychain to go along with my Ladybug/Jester wouldn't go amiss either. I'd certainly also buy a few t-shirts if they were available.

I would love to see a t-shirt design competition, there are some very talented artists around here. The diving organization I follow did that a while ago and it was a great success, I believe.

Re: Spyderco swag?!
Its not difficult at all to have these things made. There are even companies out there that would produce the stuff and sell it for Spyderco. And, yea, this is a good way to create some extra revenue.
Heck, I have stickers and t-shirts made all the time (one-offs, personal use and never for sale) with a certain other knife company's logos. Not sure why I haven't tried Spyderco.
Maybe I'm just hoping they will get off their butts and do it first.

I don't wear Glock t-shirts or caps, as it advertises me as a gun-owner which could be detrimental.
But heck I'd rock a Spyderco T-shirt. And cap. And some stickers. And a mug.

Re: Spyderco swag?!
I'd be up for some of this stuff too but it looks like they offered it at one time and then discontinued most of it.

Devil's advocate -- teeshirts can be a headache to deal with. They take up a lot of space for the profit involved (if any), can be a pain to manage due to different sizes (always too few or too many in one size or another), and no matter what the color is, some people don't like the color! I can understand why someone might not jump at the teeshirt opportunity.

I'd love a mug with a black outside, red inside and a gold colored bug logo to represent their current boxes :D

What you say is true but it is also very easy to sell online by preorder only. My brother has a small clothing business and sells everything by preorder so he doesn't have to stock what he thinks will sell and possibly get stuck with items. It can be an annoyance to have to wait for the preorder to close but everybody knows the timeline when they make their order.clovisc wrote:I would love a Spyderco mug.

Re: Spyderco swag?!
We had a lengthy thread a while ago about shirts. It seemed to be going well and I believe they said that they were working on it.

Re: Spyderco swag?!
Or Spyderco could do like some other companies, including Disney are doing and set up a shop on Zazzle. I'm sure the per-unit profit is lower, but there's no inventory to maintain, no shipping or returns to handle, and the customer has a wide choice of sizes, styles, colors, and even products.clovisc wrote:I would love a Spyderco mug.

Don't know about you, but I'd love an "All God's Critters" mouse pad. :)

Re: Spyderco swag?!
Yes indeed! I have been wanting to see more Spyderco swag for many years now, including keychains/key fobs, bottle openers, pens/pencils, hats, shirts, hoodies, backpacks, cell phone cases... the list goes on and on. My guess as to why Spyderco hasn't done more of the swag type items in recent times is because the last run of shirts/caps/vests took a seemingly long while to sell. Perhaps they discontinued selling these items because it was a poor performer in terms of sales. But, entering TODAY'S climate of hyper-spydernuts, I have a strong hunch that anything Spyderco-branded would sell very well indeed. :D
P.S. And yes, Paul, I'd love an "All God's Critters Have Knives" mouse pad. Heck, I'd buy anything with that slogan on it!

I need a pair of spyderco pants with 12 individual knife pockets so I can carry a dozen Spydies with me at a time. :D
