Paypal?

#1

Post by Simple Man »

Has anybody had any real problems with Paypal? There seems to be several sites out there against them. I have also heard several horror stories passed around, but they were mostly "my cousin's-dog's-son's-next door neighbor's-uncle's-boy had X problem with them".

So is it safe to use? Are there any firsthand problems with them?

No problem here.

Well, just one - I can't seem to get a certain fair lady I know, to send me her paypal bill - or what ever it is they have to do - so I can pay her for the s she sent me

Chris -

About the only "fault" I find with them

is the merchant pays a "fee" to them

to receive your payment! The way I'm

going to "remedy" that is to "pad" my

bill with the faire glasshartt &

there's NOT a **** thing "PayPal" can

really do about that!

I've never had a problem with PayPal, and I've used it quite a bit.

You have a certain amount of extra protection (aside from what PayPal offers), when purchasing from a well known trader that relies on their good reputation for business like Glasshart and certain software developers I occassionally buy from.

The most riskiest is from an individual who you have never had dealings with. But even here I have never had a transaction go bad.

Three years with PayPal, both as a buyer and a seller, and - knock on wood - no problems at all.

If I know the seller, I'll use my bank account, if not, I'll use my VISA card so I have the card's fraud protection as a last resort.

I bought some knives from a gentleman on BF that is in Japan, PayPal'd him the money, and had my Spydies in 5 days. Can't beat it!

(p.s. to sellers... don't tell me you want me to pay the 3% upcharge to receive the money... just write it into your price!)

PayPal rules. I don't know why some people refuse to accept it.

Message for Chuck:

Paypal has a "Send Money" feature. Just enter the person's email address and the amount.

Hope this helps.

PayPal is the shiznez!! Saves me time and money for E-Bay purchases especially. Been a user for nigh on 2 years with zero problemas. It was a good option for the pack of scheming Forumites who chipped in to make Linda's present possible also. Allen's observation is valid but that was the price for doing business. For cash, money, dough, lucre - filthy or otherwise, geetus, mammon, dinero, ducats, coinage, moolah, bucks, yen, mazuma, jack, kronars, lira, wampum, greenbacks, francs, pesos, bolivars, Euros???, marks, cabbage, shekels, pounds (kilos for the rest of the world), simoleans, scratch, boodle, do-re-mi, loot, gravy, lettuce, long green, currency, banknotes, nickels-and-dimes, potatoes, peanuts, and any other form of legal tender that absolutely has to be there - PayPal are the way to went!

My uncle's brother's sister twice removed knew of a friend of a friend with relatives in east Antarctica who heard from their sister's mother's uncle who in a past life became the third brother to a council of the court of the 6th Dutch Uncle of Louie XIV's zookeeper on the east bank of the Thames while visitng England in the latter half of Tuesady late November once told of a bad experience with PayPal but before anyone could figure out who was who, we all collapsed into Sword and Shield's googleplexed Spyder Hole and entered a universe where ownership of an infinite number of Spydies was possible and they were immediately paid for by PayPal to the third power. Left me wondering not only which way Goshen was but where did I go???
