New To Forum and Spyderco

#1

Post by jstanfield103 »

I have watched Spyderco knives for a long time and just never pulled the plug. Mainly because I am a big gun guy and always buying guns. Also because I have had a Buck American made knife that I have always really liked and that could not find a knife that open and closed one handed as easily as the Buck.
I was looking for a Spyderco or at Spyderco knives last night and pulled the plug. Can't wait to get it. I bought the C101GP2 Manix 2 Satin S30V Plain Blade G10 Handle Folding Knife. Looks like it will be an awesome knife.
Just wanted to say hello.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new toy. Many of us are gun nuts too. :)

Careful, Spydies are like Lay's, you can't have just one. ;)

Welcome to the forum. The Manix 2 (saber ground 154CM) was one of my first serious knives. I'm pretty sure you will love it.

Welcome to the forum. Excellent choice for a Spyderco. S30V is a GREAT blade steel IMO and the Manix2 fits the hand like they made the knife inside a fist. One rule around here is you need to post pictures or it didn't happen. :) Of course the Manix should be laying next to one or two of your favorite guns. :D

Hi jstan!
Welcome to the jungle. Do yourself a favour, buy a Spyderpac now. It saves wondering where to put them once they start arriving at your door more often than your bills... :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :spyder:

Welcome aboard and congrats on the Manix. As Darby mentioned, we enjoy firearms here too. You may want to get ready set aside a few more $$$, because I'm thinking you'll be a Spydie fanatic in no time. ;):D

Thanks guy's, I will post pictures as soon as I get the knife. But for now I will post a picture of a few of my guns. As you can tell I like the older style guns. All these are Marlins and Ruger revolvers. I do also have two Henry Levers in there.

welcome to the forums! How do you like the Henrys? Im thinking of getting a Henry Mare's Leg as my next gun, but can't decide between that and the Rossi Ranch Hand

Welcome to the forum Jstan, enjoy your time here and post lots of pics. Afraid I can't supply any with firearms, unless I get out my Daisy BB gun ;). Cheers, Radioactive :)

I like the Henries real well. I had two Rossi's, they were good and well made guns but if you need parts they will not sell them to you. You have to send the gun to them for them to fix. I never had any problem with the Rossi's that I owned but I traded both for Marlins. I like the Henries over the Rossi because of the side ejection port. I never liked the Winchester top eject after getting the Rossi.
I like peep sights on most of my rifles and the Marlins and or Henries are easily peeped. Henry customer service is a #1. I wanted a youth but stock for my GoldenBoy and asked if I could trade the original in for one. The President told me no, that he would just send me a youth stock and that is exactly what he did. Great company and all made in the USA as are all of my guns now.

Welcome, and I don't think you can find an easier to open and close one handed knife than a Spyderco. :)
- best wishes, Jazz.
